NFLPA president prepares players for lockout in 2021

I think the NFL typically gets over on the players union because players cave. Of course, they cave because their careers are so short.

I wouldn't mind a year or two work stoppage. Let them all get hit in the wallet...plus we won't have to watch the shitty Lions!

NFL is different from MLB that they don't guarantee all the money in a contract.

If a football player is cut with a year or two left, I don't think they get that money. Only a percentage is guaranteed.

Baseball players sign a long contract, and start to not live up to it, they can play up to 50% of what they did before the contract was signed, and still get the rest of it.

Could be a reason Slay wants to have a new contract with 2 year left on the one he signed.

They just might be heading for a lockout.

If memes can get 1 million people to rush Area 51....how many people rush DeMaurice Smith if theres an NFL work stoppage.

I heard about this on the radio the other day. Pretty good idea on the part of the owners. Reduce the pre season by 2 games and add 2 regular season games.

Not for fans. Not sure someone wants to spend $200 for tickets and than realize 40 minutes before game time Tom Brady isn't playing."

Well, I think it would be announced in advance the game out rotation.

At least in early in the week before the game.

Adding a extra game and taking away a preseason game and adding a 7th playoff team is going to pass. Only the #1 seed gets the bye. I love this. Gives us poor Lions fans a extra chance to make it !

Caldwell never would have been fired ! Past ten years which team in each conference that would have been the 7th seed.

not necessarily. Given a 17 game schedule the Lions surely would have found a way to miss the playoffs by a game.
