In spite of a stellar year, Matt Prater and Sam Martin among those missing out from the NFC roster.

Matt got there years ago when he was like the 6th alternate. He'll get in, injuries, QB from super bowl teams, or others who just don't want to play.

I keep seeing articles about Stafford for MVP but he can't even make the Pro Bowl. How does that make sense?

He's not an MVP candidate. He's having a solid year but nothing spectacular. At this point, if 12 games is good enough, I'm thinking Brady. Of course Dax, but they have stud RB amongst others.. Matt Ryan. Those 3 I'd put ahead of Stafford. Then a few more who are pretty equal..

He's not a candidate now but he was.

Stafford would be in of he played for one of the NFL's protected teams like the Packers,Giants, Patriots, Steelers,Cowboys, ect, ect.

Why was Sean Lee left off the roster if he is on one of the protected teams? You could argue he is the best LB in the league this year. Guy is all over the place in the games I've seen.

Also, what Pro Bowl QB has Stafford been better than?

He certainly doesn't go above the 3 who were selected. And I'd even put Brees ahead..

Linebackers always get lost in the shuffle not QB's unless you play in Detroit. Just saying if he played in any of those cities and had all those comeback wins like Matt does this year he would be in.. Just my opinion.

Matthew Stafford tops several Pro Bowl snubs lists.
Eight fourth quarterback comebacks was apparently not enough.
PrideOfDetroit

4th quarter comebacks are a skewed stat. Glad we've got Stafford in times like that, but at the same time, having to come back against a team that isn't exactly lighting the world on fire or scoring oodles of points isn't exactly as exciting as its lead to be.

Stafford is making plays despite no run game and inconsistent weapons and protection. Weapons are improved but have had some injuries. Run game is worse than last year due to Abdullah and Riddick injuries but Stafford scrambles have been big this year. Stafford protecting ball better too. Those two improvements plus defense and good special teams give us the division lead. They need to finish.

I don't care if he is pro bowl, all pro or MVP. Just win games. Stafford does that.

As for comebacks
Vikings have a good D. Both those comebacks are impressive considering the opponent
Eagles above average D and good at the time. Impressive throw to Tate for the FG after Slay fumble
Rams D was "good" at that time. Scored 31. Impressive
Colts scored 39 points. Impressive
Bears D is around average. Stafford was hurt TD drive. Impressive
Skins the defense gave up a late score. Impressive come back.
Jags took the lead early in the 4th and Lions took it back early in 4th. Then Lions added another FG drive that ate almost 8 minutes of clock. Impressive

Defense playing well, and we still need to come back 8 times, unimpressive

Colts and Rams the D didn't play well
26 against Jags is a good day
Vikings have a good D. Impressive
Eagles were hot and have an above average D. 24 points scored is good

Skins and Bears only low scoring offense days of 20. Stafford injured in one of those games. not his fault only 20 against Skins

27 on road at Green Bay is impressive too

And Stafford isn't missing many throws. More drops, tackled short of sticks, pressure and run game why drives stall.

The comeback stat is dumb. This has nothing to do about Matt but if a QB has 58 minutes of bad football but get his team into FG in the last moments to win the game, whoop-de-do. Glad the team won but the stat is shit.

It's like the Hold in baseball.
