Actually I'm not even an Atheist. I don't believe in forming hard drawn conclusions on things that can't be proven one way or the other. Am I an evolutionist? Yes! Do I think organized religion is a crock of horse shit? Absolutely! Do I believe 100% in my heart that there was not a creator? With the amount of evidence, no.

Also, I'm not wasting energy worrying about what others believe. I honestly don't care weather you believe in the flying spaghetti monster or sacred cows or whatever. That's just, like, you know, your opinion, man.

I'm trying to post some, what I considered lolquality content that I thought some others could get a chuckle out of that was also relevant to the direction in which the discussion in this thread was going. Do you honestly think I believe a bunch of internet meme's could get somebody to renounce their faith?

And no, I never though you or anyone was going to think they could make anyone renounce their faith, that's not what the asshole atheist's do, they just try to make everyone else feel stupid for what they believe in.

Again, I fit the definition of "Atheist", but the word has become so synonymous with the term "self-righteous asshole" that I really wish there was a different word people like me who still respect the beliefs of others could use to separate ourselves from the other kind.

or maybe I would have kept going to 15 pages? I only made it about 25% of the way through the source of the meme's so that was certainly a possibility. either way, that shows next to nothing about how strongly or neutral I feel about the issue.

it appears to be YOU who fits the definition of the self-righteous asshole atheist.

right before I starting posting the pictures Mitch made the comment "You believe we all came from apes?" to which I responded that yes, I believe in evolution. I then went on to post pictures that I believed to be funny that also supported my position at the comedic expense of the other end of the spectrum. the volume is irrelevant other than to say I had a lot of funny content (imo) that supports my position.

I was attacking nobody personally (unlike you). merely poking a little fun at the holes there are in ALL of the belief structures that are the counter argument to evolution. you're the one spewing off a straw man claiming to know my intentions and looking down upon me for them while similarly acting as if you're somehow better/smarter/more respectful of others than I am. take a look in the fucking mirror.

I will take personal responsibility for all of the constigation (if that's even a word) in this thread.

I was the one who initially posted the "Moses burning bush" as a comparison to the "Whatever planet Mitt Romney is from" (I don't even remember) to kinda show that religions ain't really that much that different, for those that want to slam any particular religion.

And what makes me a really, totally, special asshole is that I just got married in a Jewish wedding under the canopy; I was wearing the yamaka, and I signed the Ketuba, and I got a qualified long time friend (he had just gotten out of prison) to co-sign the Ketuba with me, as is the tradition (he was actually the only non-relative present, qualified to do so, under Jewish law).


And also, I've read Psalm 23 at both Jewish and Catholic funerals.

My Catholic mother loved the wedding, (to my second wife) if that means anything.

But she has also always loved the woman who became my second wife.

So if anyone wants to blame anyone, you can blame me.
