"On his show Thursday, Rush Limbaugh hosted a climate expert to explain how global warming is ?a hoax.? Sorry, did we say climate expert? We meant 13-year-old kid from Indiana."

Bonus quote from pathetic windbag:
"Folks, just exactly as the news media is no longer about the news, there aren?t any news outlets, it?s a branch of the Democrat Party, so too is much of science today."
got that retards? First Rush gave you permission to ignore that "liberal media" with their "big words" and all; now he gives you a reason to flunk science. Don't listen to the news, don't use science. Just go bowling, (but only with straight white people, no illegals or, blacks, or the gays), watch reality TV, and vote Republican.

AFAIAC, Rush and the rest of his secessionist & climate-change denying dittohead audience can emigrate to that mega-monstrous and ever-growing island of degrading plastic and trash trapped in the Pacific gyre between HI & CA. They can then become their own nation and perhaps name it "Sociopathia".

Although the island would not (at least initially) be able to support buildings, roads, bridges, nor vehicles, there are likely many materials available for gratis there, that they could readily use to make floating structures, furniture, beds, and makeshift sailboats/rafts to travel. The glorious "free market" could supply them with the rest of their needs, such as clothing, food, potable water, tools, fuel, and power.

The power of prayer would obviously eliminate the need for any further formal education, books, (other than waterproofed Bibles) currency, and medicines/medical-dental treatment. Those who would inevitably pass away could be weighted down with rocks obtained from the ocean floor, then sunk.

At one time the Muslim world was the most advanced in civilization. From a broad looking perspective, as they became more orthodox and conservative, they lost their superior edge in science and knowledge. Meanwhile in Europe they were moving away from having the church as their sole education, science began to evolve, and eventually Europe became more advanced while the Arab world became not-so-much.

Science drives knowledge and advances society, religion retards those advances.

That said, I do not for a second believe science is the end-all-be-all. Science often gets things wrong and introduces things into society that cause harm. Not just I'm advanced weapons, but in things that are suppoised to be helpful. Big Pharma often causes long term health problems, chemical companies introduce harmful compounds, and many other harmful things....including every single supposed cause to artificial global warming.

Still, I am not sold that humans are the sole responsible party in the global warming scenario. It has only been 10,000 years since the last ice age. While that is long in human terms it is extremely short span for the sun. How well do we know the sun to say it is or is not a major factor? What about volcanic activity?

And to what degree is science culpable in deforestation?

Science has many negatives and is far from a solution. Typically the more science strives to solve a problem, their research results in causing bigger problems than the one thing it solved. How much energy is consumed in the research?

Now everyone should realize I am not against science as many threads I have posted are pro-science. However, I'm not anti-religion like most scientists. There needs to be a balance, for when they work together, they can definitely improve quality of life. The problems tend to come from going to extremes.

Oh, and rush is an idiot.

That's like the BAC's who argue the only evidence you need that the world is only 6000 years old is the Bible.

I seriously hate to think what the library in Wilmington, Indiana is like if it offered that kind of evidence, conclusive enough for a learned lad of 13.

Extremism going the other way for sure. Yeah that will solve the problem.

BTW you obviously have never seen the power of prayer at work. Don't give a crap about anything else in your post, but that part is just rubbish.

My post was meant to be sarcastic satire, sorry that you took it so seriously.

...

what a load of crap.

Power of Dynamite >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> power of prayer

it's not even arguable. the power of prayer is just not very impressive.

Most of your posts are a bigger load of crap. Obviously a BITTER atheist.

Sorry turok, I got the sarcasm, but still was affected enough to chime in. I didn't mean to give you the impression I was super serious - but baiting champ is a hobby. :*)

It can work miracles. I actually feel sorry for you that you have never seen it. I have - it changes your life.

I know, I know, it is just something that science hasn't caught up (KAWDUP) to yet. Calling it crap and unimpressive just means truth has never caught up to you yet.

Faith >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> atheism

Here is the spectrum of effective things you can do to solve a problem:

nuclear strike > dynamite > stun grenade > club > pepper spray > yell loudly > play tiddlywinks > pray

just look at Rush Limbaugh... he's got millions of dollars, mansions, multiple wives, influential golf buddies, and expensive resort vacations. Think he puts his faith in Christ? No chance he's taking a vow of poverty. He puts his "faith" in DOLLARS (and oxycotin.)

The power of prayer? What has prayer ever done that can't be explained or happen by chance? How many people pray for the starving kids in the world? What good has that done? No, I'm not angry with God. I just don't see how a smart person can see read a book about 1,000 year old men, giants, witches, a talking snake, an invisible place in the sky, a lake of fire with a prison buried underground, a virgin birth, and still believe it actually happened. Frankly, I find the bible to be less believable than Harry Potter. There could be a God, but I can promise you that the God of the bible is not real.

There is your problem - you are only considering praying to solve problems. That is why you have a free will - so you can solve you own problems with the tools you have.

What has prayer ever done that can't be explained or happen by chance. You have an idea how one becomes sainted in the Catholic church?

I can pray that lightening strikes down all the unbelievers, doesn't mean it would or even should happen. You are using the extremely narrow meaning of what can be done for you. Really?

Solving the problems for starving kids is an admirable goal. The question is what have you done to help solve it? If all your doing is praying for it - there's your problem.

you can't prove that, and as the one asserting it, the burden of proof is on you.

Until then, I will put my "faith" in TNT

So, if your only answer for unexplained events is that science just hasn't caught up - there is no burden on me. The burden is on you, but you don't have to prove anything to me.

Are you trully asking me if I think Rush Limbaugh puts his faith in Christ? It doesn't matter what I think, but if you have this innate need for someone to argee with you to feel that you're in the right. I agree with you.

Does that make you feel any better?

What have I done to solve it? Well, I donate quite a bit of money each month, even sponsor a few kids throughout the world. I've organized neighborhood food drives as well for my local community. Of course, I'm not all powerful, so I can't do everything myself. Do you know anyone who is all powerful? Besides, I'm sorry if asking God to feed a few kids is such a difficult thing. Maybe, he'd rather answer your prayer about helping you get through your tough week.

edit: i'm sorry. that's not how prayer works. You ask him for strength and guidance through it...not to actually get you through it. Sorry, my bad.

Doesn't matter who has the burden of proof. The problem is that people believe in a book that condones slavery, killing non-virgin brides, killing newborn babies, unborn babies, entire cities, and forcing women to marry their rapist.
