Not buying Mike Hart's comments

"I'm committed to this team," Hart said. "This is who I am. I am Eastern Michigan. I coach at Eastern Michigan. I want Eastern Michigan to win every game. I don't cheer for Michigan ever anymore. I watch the game and I watch as a coach trying to see what they're going to do."

For someone who was as passionate about U of M in his 4 years, and how he firmly remained a Michigan Man while playing in the NFL, I find this to be insanely PR related, and I'm not believing a word of it. If Michigan offered him an assistant job down the line, he would dart Eastern at the drop of a hat.

He's walking the walk for his players trying to get them riled up behind him. Like others said, I don't buy it. Then again, Mike hart has been pretty loosy goosy with his comments in the past, and this really doesn't surprise me one bit.

He didnt say he hated michigan... just that he didnt cheer for them

I get what he is saying and I hope he is on our staff soon because I think he would be a hell of a recruiter and coach. He loves U of M and always will.

Wheels, if that's something he posted on twitter, that's a far cry from saying, "I don't cheer for Michigan ever anymore."

of course he is commited to emu - for now... he will start moving around and building up his experience

I wouldn't expect any less from MH. He is an EMU coach now, and I expect him to provide them with excellence in his coaching. Part of that excellence is being 100% commited to EMU every game, even when they play Michigan.

Nothing surprising about anything he said. We all know how much Michigan has meant to Hoke, but I'll bet he said something similar while he was the head coach at Ball State and preparing to bring that team into AA.

I'd expect nothing less from Mike Hart.

This. The dude has a job to do. People who are on him for this are way off base.
