Suh is gone, no use bitching about it any longer. It had been tending this way for a long long time now. But where do the lions go from here? I don't see any real rumors of interest. And that kind of worries me. The lions better real in a couple of good starters with the remaining salary cap. But what happens if they don't? I'm kind of worried given the complete silence out of the state of Michigan.

Technically speaking, since the terms of the negotiating period have been violated, the commish could void every one of these deals and prevent teams from signing these players.

I doubt he would go that far, but by all reports, he's livid. One reporter this morning said Goodell has never been this angry before, not even when the Ray Rice video hit the media.

He could really put the hammer down on all these teams that have "agreed" with players already, since the rules state that teams may submit their "negotiating position" but may not make an "offer" yet.

what would be better would be draft picks to the team of the exiting player...as long as it isn't a 2nd round pick!

Actually, he really could here. A couple of years ago, and I forget which player it was, but someone signed a contract that had a sort of "poison pill" clause in it. Nothing like the Nate Burleson clause, but something that could be a form of poison pill.

Goodell voided the contract due to the language violating league policy and prohibited the team from signing the player. Wasn't the player's fault, but Goodell still laid the hammer down.

In this case, the league's policy on the negotiating window is clear, and the NFL even sent a memo reminded all 32 teams of the policy on Friday. The policy was violated. He really could do exactly the same thing with all of these contracts.

I think the hard part would be the lawsuits that would follow. Starting early Saturday morning, the NFL mobile app started giving me updates on who agreed with who. Which means the NFL itself was leaking this news.

It could be easily argued in court the players, the agents, and the teams didn't leak the news.. the NFL did through their own website and mobile app. And i would imagine the argument would hold up really well too.
