How about the teachers unions??? Instead of using hundreds of millions of dollars on political campaigns why not protect their membership from killers???

of course, that's the answer, to bust the teachers union. How dare they have any rights.

who said anything about busting???....I'm suggesting they could use some of the money they collect from dues and use it to protect their membership...good grief kaline

cities cant afford police. schools cant even afford pencils. who the hell would pay for police in every school?

You and me. We have paid for local law enforcement agencies to buy armored vehicles and other "security" devices through grants made by the Dept of Homeland Security. These things are unnecessary in the communities that have purchased them and the communities cannot pay to maintain them. It is a waste of our money. That money could be redirected. There could also be a tax placed on guns to pay for this. Some of the money generated by state lotteries (money which was supposed to be for improving schools but has never been used in that way) could be used. There is plenty of ways to pay for this. All it will take is public will.

It is the public's responsibility to provide teachers with a safe work place. Taking money from teacher's unions is essentially making teachers pay for safety in their work place, rather than the public providing them with a safe work place.

make drugs legal and we can pay for everything. cliff would turn into a small ant hill. we could put pollice on every fucking corner. we could put unmanned sentry guns in every school hallway. drugs are the answer!

would they rather be dead or would they rather their UNION have money? Unions dont do shit nowadays and its not like theyre spending their money on their employees. Unions are the ones taking money from teachers...its called dues. And they never get anything back from it....ever. Safety isnt too much to ask in return.

Your post demonstrates the need for unions. It is the employer's (in the case of schools the public) responsibility to provide their employees a safe work place. Unless you are arguing that we return to the 1800s. That is a lost arguement mhughes.

A gun might be a stretch, but it seems like you could 3D print high-capacity magazines.

if the union was strong they would have put safety regulations in their last contract. Its not strong. they take the teachers money and they spend it on crap.

Just like corporations do is that what you want.. Because we all know non-union places are so great to their employees.. We all know that they could give a rats fuck about their employees... I mean Walmart is a great example of unabated capitalism gone wild.. Get ready for the bar code on the back of your neck Mr Hughes.. Blaming the teachers union is just not right...

Give the teachers guns...Give the teachers bandoliers..give them a cigar like Sergent Rock.. Oh yeah and then have them babysit the brats and try to teach them all in six hours.. Oh Mr teacher please sign this liability form that says the the county, state and city are not responsible if a crazy man with 2 billion clips over powers you and kill's your class...Oh wait did he forget to take his mandated NRA protector course on how to be a idiot in fatigues and kill bad guys? Now he is a bad guy because he pay's union dues?

Holy crap we are going full circle when the masses start to side with the corporations of the world over the employee who breaks his backs making them zillions... Teachers have a tough job I do not care what anybody says...

working 8 months a year is a tough gig......

I bet you $1000 the average teacher works harder in 8 months than a lying, welcher.

Here's another thing you can add to the NRA's "Greatest Hits": rebranding silencers (prohibited in many places by many laws) as "safety devices" thereby allowing manufacturers to sell more silencers.

why any average law-abiding citizen needs a silencer is beyond me. they say it will preserve childrens' hearing... so I guess at the next mass school shooting, at least no children will suffer hearing loss while they are being brutally shot to death.

just more evidence the NRA is a sales organization, not a civil rights organization.
