Odell Beckham Jr....woulda coulda shoulda

Routes, speed, and unreal hands. He could actually catch the shit Stafford throws...well...ok...half of the shit Stafford throws.

Good job Mayhew!

I'd be okay with half of the guys taken after Ebron. There is no room for patience when you draft a TE 10th overall, you expect an immediate impact. And I don't buy that it takes 2-3 years for some of these guys, look at OBJ.

I hated the Ebron pick when we made it, and hate it all the more now. A f'n TE at #10 made no sense. He pretty much needed to step in and be Graham or Gronk for it to work. So far, he's pretty much been #3 on our depth chart of TEs.

At this point there's no way to sugarcoat it. It was a bad pick. It might be salvageable sometime in the future, but for now the Lions could have done so much better.

Nothing prior to the draft suggested that Ebron was going to be a difference maker. Almost everything I read was negative. So far it appears that they were right about him.

He might become good down the road. Pick still made no sense. I thought once Pettidrop resigned there was no point in grabbing a TE at 10. Then Caldwell was suppose to use all these guys but there were games I'm not sure they even ran plays for a TE. And now we see he's not quite ready yet.

I always stated if we were to use him as a down field threat, why not just take a WR in round 2 and use #10 somewhere else.

From ESPN

The 2014 rookie receiver class might be the best ever; 23 pass-catchers have 1,000-yard seasons.

that's the problem with mayhews picks....were always waiting for them to develop in the future. Some morons out there are still waiting for broyles to develop lmao. Your scorecard as a GM should be how many of your picks get to a 2nd contract....he doesn't get many of those. Which means our roster:
1) isn't very good
2) has no depth
3) is constantly changing
4) relies too much on FAs to cover holes
5) the FAs he brings in aren't very good either
6) costs too much cause we don't have enough guys on cheap contracts.

Suh, Fairley,Ansah,Levy, Whitehead,Slay all postiive impact. Maybe Van Noy.
Mosley,Quin,Ihedigbo,Mathis Tullcoh (previous years and first 2 weeks) positive impact.
Great job Mayhew. Built a world class defense with draft and free agency. Mostly cheap free agency too.

Offense the talent is there. Some Oline injuries, TE injuries, RB injuries and a Calvin injury for 5 weeks. This offense is about to explode against the bad defenses.

Broyles didn't work out. Ebron isn't all world from day 1. Big deal. This offense is still loaded. If you look at overall, you will see for a fact, Mayhew is a genius.

Every single team in the NFC south has a better offense than the Detroit Lions

Atlanta, Tampa Bay, New Orleans, Carolina, that's pretty fucking sad.

4-7 first place teams that's also pretty fucking sad, the NFL really needs to change the playoff rules, you should not be assured a playoff spot just because you win your division. You should at least have to finish .500 IMO. There are only 4 teams in a damn division if they all suck they shouldn't be awarded a playoff game!

5 FGs in the past 8 quarters. It took a last second TD to beat Miami. ONLY beat the shitty Saints and Shitty Falcons by one point each.

Monster 21 and 22 point halfs against Saints/Falcons. 20 points and a missed field goal is impresive against Miami defense. Who cares when they scored. Green Bay scored last minute against Miami too. Does their offense suck? Remember they played Bears twice and Vikings twice already. Got destoryed by Seattle, Detroit and Saints.

Zona/Patriots have good defenses especially at home.

We'll rebound the next five weeks.

I don't know sounds like an offensive juggernaut to me! Loaded...hell they'd be scoring 40 points per game if not for dropps, no pass protection, no running game, a shitty offensive game planner and a happy feet erratic QB. so so close.

And on top of it not only will they make they playoffs but they'll get a 1st round HOME game against a 10-6 or 11-5 wild card team.

That's just not right, that needs to change! call it the shitty division winner clause.

Thank the heavens for the shitty strength of schedule..that's what I do.
