Looks like he is going to the Texans. Why didn't Lions fire Schwartz last Monday so they could at least be considered. Another misfire by owners, GM, and President. FAIL.

Lions would still have to pay Schwartz 12 million plus buyout O'Brien at Penn State for another 6 million and then actually give him a contract. They were never going to be in the running.

Are they looking for a bargain coach? Money should be no object when many consider us being able to make a jump like KC did once they got Reid.

Watch them promote Scott Linehan...think they have the balls to do that?

Hold on a minute, people are way to giddy on O'Brien who has proven nothing as a head coach. No, there are not many great prospects, but O'Brien isn't great either, so let's avoid having a stroke over him going to Texans. Heck, I would rather have kubiak than O'Brien even though O'Brien is replacing kubiak.

Ford's are loaded.

It's obvious that the Texans gave up. That's on Kubiak, I want no part of him.

His bosses were forcing him to start a different QB and be knew that was not the solution to the problem, that it was deeper than that. The disagreements resulted in major riff and he stuck to his guns which got him fired. I don't have a big issue with that.

Bringing in an unproven college coach with zero championships as coach, not even playing in championship games, but because he is the hit name he dumps the college team instead of building his resume. I don't want someone who is unproven in any way other than to jump ship the second more money is offered.

Its a lose-lose, I don't see O'Brien doing any good as a head coach.

Give me Cowher, Chucky or tony... Offer them Farmington Hill's and millions...

I could care less if Gruden has won with other coaches players... Maybe he can get our sad sack QB over the top..

What about Stanford's head coach? David Shaw? He is a tough hard nosed coach and what the Lions really need... He played football at Rochester Adams High School in Rochester Hills, Michigan while his father coached for the Detroit Lions. I think Stanford losses a ton of players after this year..
