Per Bovada formerly Bodog...surprised that Cincy has worse odds than Denver:

Green Bay Packers - 9/5

New England Patriots - 4/1

New Orleans Saints - 9/2

Baltimore Ravens - 8/1

Pittsburgh Steelers - 11/1

San Francisco 49ers - 11/1

New York Giants - 20/1

Atlanta Falcons - 35/1

Detroit Lions - 40/1

Houston Texans - 40/1

Denver Broncos - 50/1

Cincinnati Bengals - 65/1

really denver better odds than cincy? lol..idk about all that though with the odds for the lower ranked teams...in the playoffs all the teams are usually pretty legit and have a good shot...but 40/1?...

Yeah man...I don't get it. Tebow's terrible. Dalton's good and is only going to get better...has some decent weapons and the defense is solid. Although I don't know if their secondary is back to full strength yet, regardless I sill see them as a better team than Denver.

Denver backed into this year's playoffs in spite of their much more often cold than hot, run game over pass-happy NFL QB, not just b/c of him (although he did play a big part mainly in many of their second-half season, last-minute victories) so perhaps that is why the Broncos have somewhat better odds than the Bengals?

In the end neither one's winning the Super Bowl so it's much ado about nothing, but I'd have those two flip-flopped...

Detroit is 40-1 because they'd have to play NO and GB. Tough odds.

Remember betting lines are established solely for the purpose of getting the public to put money down on a team. With Tebow's "christlike" status they probably have a decent amount of money coming in on the Broncos just from the religious angle...and they don't want to pay out.

The Lions have a brutal road facing everyone on the road...including what most would consider 2 of the 3 best teams - if not the 2 best. I think 40-1 sounds right.

That has nothing to do with Cincy though and on a futures bet such as this putting Denver at 30-1, 40-1, 50-1, or 65-1 isn't going to get more or less religious peeps wagering on them.

Yeah but wouldn't Cincy most likely have the least amount of money coming in on them, so you have to make the number larger in order to get more wagers on Cincy.

I've always thought of futures lines to be some of the "truest" lines out there. In other words spreads on single games are set up to entice gamblers whereas futures more accurately represent true odds. I understand your angle and there's really no way to say it's right or wrong, but I personally find it hard to believe that you're going to gain or lose wagers putting Cincy at 50-1 or 45-1. If your theory were true I would think you'd make Denver have the worst odds due to the Tebow factor. Longest shot, we believe, and all that jazz...just my opinion.

Me I'm going to throw a little scratch on our boys...money down the drain? Probably, but if not....

I do think the difference between Denver and Cincy odds is because Denver gets a home game. Cincy is like us...everything is on the road. We just happen to have the sexy, explosive offense that has a better chance to pull off an upset so we get better odds. They also have to win every game on the road starting a rookie at QB.

Perhaps...if I was the book, I'd flip-flop 'em. In the end it won't matter much, but I've been more impressed with Dalton and the boys than I have with Tebow and the crusaders.
