Offensive Coordinator Options

Chatsports is not a very reputable website

just saying.

I’m just looking for names. He probably has more guys to ask then I do. I’m of the mindset that all info is good info. Please by all means post anything you can find. So you don’t think he is right when he said that Harbaugh told Hamilton to look around ? Why say something like that ? Just to get clicks I guess. I really am unsure if I want Hamilton back. Yes his offense was better then last season. But it had some issues.

Was McElwain ever truly an integral part of the staff? His title seemed to be exactly what it turned out to be - a placeholder or stop off after getting canned by UF and before getting another HC offer.

If they get a new OC, will that not likely change the entire offensive scheme? Does the offense really need to go back to square one? I think it needs some tweaking, better blocking, better play calling, but not a completely different offense.

Better play calling is not likely to occur with Pep.

I agree sort of.
Tweak the offense. Why can’t a team pound it when they need to and spread a team out when they need to ? lt just feels like our offense is too predictable.
Play calling seems poor under Hamilton to me. Our line laid a egg verses osu and Patterson was running for his life. Get the damn ball out faster. Adjust damn it. Michigan had Jones, Black, Collins, and a tight end with bad hands. Spread out osu. Get that defense in space. We could pound teams other then ND and osu.. just update the offense and the offensive playcalling.

The problem with just pounding the ball against weaker teams is that you never develop in-game timing and chemistry in the passing game. We need to run a more balanced offense against the weaker teams we play so we can develop that chemistry. Then when we have to rely on the passing game to win, the offense doesn't go to shit.

Michigan had PJ and Collins. It is unknown how effective Black truly was and why would you count the TE's? Whether they should have had better WR or not, they do not. Martin is ok, but again, he's a redshirt freshman, right? OSU probably has 8 WR options to go to, Michigan has 2.

The O-line struggled mightily when JBB went out. Harbaugh warned us all year that there was a huge gap between the starters and the players that were next in line behind them.

Let's face it, Brady Hoke left a black hole at WR, RB, QB, and OL. Sounds great to fix it with 3 recruiting classes, but sometimes it takes longer.
