OFFICIAL: Draft Day (Day One-Three)

i'm not loving the Reiff pick. I'm okay with it, but not loving it. Hopefully he can be a good RT, don't think he'll ever see the left side.

I understand that. But he's a top 15 talent that slid to a position of need. He was the best pick available. Only time will tell if he moves to lt.

I hear a lot about arm length but can 1 inch make that big of a deal?

Reach is a big deal against a speed rusher. So... Kinda but left tackles have proven that theory less than accurate. Let's just hope for the best.

So Glenn isn't getting drafted in the first, I doubt NYG take him. I wonder how far he falls.

Love the 1st round pick!, the Lions actual draft O line in the first round! finally! :yay:

anybody see that face the giants' phone guy just made? maybe a trade in the works? hopeful thinking? lol

Kind of bummer the site was down for near 3 hours. My wife didn't want to talk draft so I it was lonely..

damn, colts fans are lucky as fuck. fleener just fell into their laps. still, they need so much more, but luck and fleener would be a nice start.

For a new QB, TE your best friend..

Mayock's take: "This is a good pick. They need help on the offensive line, and he can immediately come in and protect the franchise, Matthew Stafford. He should probably start on the right side first, but he can transition later to the left side."

That makes me feel better about the pick. A respected analyst contradicts my thought that he was a RT only.

I read that he "prefers" playing RT. I don't know what that means but he was rated rather high. Still surprised Glenn is still there..

Well I am thoroughly disappointed with the pick. I just don't see why you pass on a player like DeCastro for a 2d tier talent, IMO. I don't think Reiff will bust, but hes not gonna be great either. Honestly hes Jeff Backus 2.0 and would be much better suited if he stayed at RT.

Per Tim Twentyman on twitter Lions view Reiff as LT

"He's one of the two guys we felt really comfortable with at left tackle," said Lions general manager Martin Mayhew.

Schwartz always says he views him as a LT, but he's versatile.

I personally just don't see it. Average LT, above average RT, not worth a first rounder.

I hope like hell he proves me wrong though, just wanted DeCastro so damn bad.

I also thought DeCastro or Glenn would've been the better pick, but now I'm just trusting that Mayhew made the right decision and we'll see how the rest of the draft goes.

Guys on NFLN seem to like it. The big dude praises it. I'm not going to be upset with any first round pick, between Rieff, DeCastro, Glenn -- there is no way to know who will be good of any of those 3. So I'll wait and hold my judgement.

damn dude. And DeCastro is a guard only. The lions see Reiff as a tackle and it seems like peterman is still their guy. SO why take decastro?

Because DeCastro was considered the best guard to come out of college since Steve Hutchinson came out of Michigan...but again, just trusting that Mayhew made the right decision
