OFFICIAL: Draft Day (Day One-Three)

If they are gonna upgrade their O-Line might as well do it right. Tomorrow I hope they go for a guard or a G/C. Either trade up for Silatolu, or Konz, or stand pat and take someone like Brandon Brooks or Kelechi Osemele.

If not them I like Josh Robinson, Brandon Boykin, or Jenkins at CB and Lavonte David at LB'er.

With this staff you never know though if they stick to BPA could be someone like Stephen Hill if he continues to fall.

Can you imagine trading up to get Glenn? Reiff and Glenn both? >:D

DB would be screwed but much better OL.

I don't think DB would be so screwed. I'm thinking Jenkins is still there in round 3, and Dennard in round 5. Character concerns to be sure, but quality players on the field.

I would creme my jeans if we traded back up to get Glenn, but I think Martin is probably a more realistic option at this point.... Stanford, yuck! Cake eater school.

I heard some teams took Jenkins completely off their board but you never know, maybe he'll fall a bit further.

in R2 and R3 they could fill CB, C/OG and then in R4 get a RB.

can't think of many who would hate those draft results depending on who is actually picked. don't need R5-7 as much since those guys have very little chance of starting, so use them as trade bait to move up if possible.

sure we still need depth, but not nearly as desperate as in recent past. quality over quantity at this point IMO.

Reiff may not start at all this year, that's something to consider.

I would guess they will let him compete at LT, RG, and RT in camp, and if he doesn't beat out the current players, fine. He gets a year or two of experience before he takes over a spot.

If he beats someone out, they move or get cut. It's simple.

I still don't see him beating out Backus this year for LT, and probably starting at RT, but you never know. Moving Backus to RT is where he belongs, so it could be a "kill two birds with one stone" approach.

I don't see Goz at RG, if he can't keep his spot, he's probably history.

If he can't beat out Cherilus, then he's a bust! Cherilus has been benched 3-4 times in the past couple years, so if Reiff can't beat him out, it's not a good sign.

Im good with the line for this year. No way they bench Crayola eventhough every lions fan thinks he blows. Peterman isnt great but im not sure a late 2nd round pick starts over him in 2012 anyways. Im hoping for Josh Robinson CB or Brandon Taylor S in rd 2. OLB or G in rd 3. RB in rd 4...Cyrus Gray has been my guy since Nov in rd 4.

I don't think it's cut and dry with Gozder. He actually has very good tools and a high talent level for his position. The problem is he has zero discipline, a low grade motor, and no dedication to his profession.

He strikes me as the type of guy that will be absolute shit if he's comfortable, and play like a man possessed when he's afraid for his job. Yep, he's been benched several times, and he's always managed to take his job back... that didn't happen just because they felt sorry for him.

Reiff could be the guy that pushes Goz to a high level, or he could be the guy that end Goz in Detroit. Either way we come out ahead, but it could mean that Reiff won't beat him out year one.

Experience + Talent beats out Talent every time. It's all a question of wether or not Cherilus responds well to a challenge.

Oh, i agree. Cherilus has talent, but he never pulls it all together. If he ever did, we wouldn't need a RT and we probably would have picked DeCastro to play guard.

Completely agree Monster. Reiff is a last call for Goz. He either steps it up and puts it all together, or he's likely looking for another team late in the pre-season.

I don't see him being any kind of a guard (although could he really be worse than Peterman?) so this is obviously a make it or break it for him.

The possibility exists that Backus finishes the season on the bench coming in when Reiff needs a breather, which won't be ever, but I really can see Reiff at RT this year and Backus at LT, and next year that reverses.

Plead guilty to misdemeanor counts of public intoxication and interference with official acts in July of 2009. Officers reportedly found him undressing and acting disoriented in an alley when he ran into a nearby kitchen. Pursuit reportedly lasted 20 minutes and involved eight officers.

One red flag..

I'm hoping either of those guys are there when we pick... but i highly doubt it. I think Taylor is better than Harrison Smith and got a bad "break" when he broke his foot.... Also wouldn't be mad with Robinson, he's a beast .

I love the pick. He will start at RT and move to LT next year. Either way you look at it he helps our line tremendously. Love the pick at 23

Great great pick. Great value and definitely a need. Glad Mayhew realized he would fall to and didn't trade up like he was thinking about doing. Future LT and Right Tackle this year. Gosder and Hilliard are both free agents next year and Fox is restricted. Worst case RT of this year and the future, best case LT of the future which I think he has a pretty good shot at. Plus gives Lions actual depth at tackle this year.

And no character issues!!!!!!!!!

He was 18 when that happened. Who didn't do that when they were 18? lol.

Not me, because if I were drunk enough for anyone to notice, there's no way I'd outrun a cop or two for 8 blocks.

The fact that he was still on his feet after 40 steps tells me he's athletic as all hell.

This is the truest statement ever. Thanks Ink!

he didn't outrun A cop....he outran 8 cops.

WIN.

edit: I also imagine him screaming, "Here piggy, piggy, piggy!" as he was running. I don't know why, but i am.

Reiff getting out at Allen park. Dude is huge.
