Ohio* honors Tressel with wall

they should honor him. what'd they give up? A BCS Win in the record books, a handful of suspensions, and a slightly above average QB?

I think it's hilarious, an overreaction and a very defensive move. Reminds me of the Avs retiring Ray Borque's #77 about 5 minutes after winning the Cup.

But I can see generations of Ohio* fans visiting the Wall, in a sort of Ohio* Wailing Wall marking a decade of corruption and cheating, aka ...the good old days.

This is the only thing I'll miss about the old boards. Hearing how Script or jtr could possibly defend this (in fairness I haven't read the article and don't know the specifics) would be interesting.

Really? I know how they would defend it... same way they defend every NCAA violation/sleazy thing a buckeye does. Here's the playbook:

  • [1] Deny Tressel did anything wrong.

[2] Use strawman argument, or change the subject: "What team X did was so much worse..."

[3] Attack the poster/ESPN columnist/Former Buckeye presenting the evidence as "biased," completely ignoring the fact that the evidence itself can be found in ohio's press releases related to "Tattgate," and their response to the NCAA.

[4] Pick out the one simple misstatements or typo in a post and argue that it completely refutes anything and everything the poster has said, or will say about the issue. Example: "HA! The correct word there should have been YOUR, not YOU'RE. Clearly you don't know what you're talking about..." Ignore any points that cannot be refuted and hope no one notices.

[5] If there are no misstatements or typos to attack, call the poster a name, and insist you have "owned" them. If they respond in kind, complain that name calling isn't fair.

[6] If multiple posters comment, and it is impossible to dismiss them all as "haters" or respond to all of their posts, leave the thread.
Return at a later time when things have quieted down and repeat step 1 in a different thread.

[7] Blame all of it -- every single bit of it -- on T_Peezy and excuse the Vest as an Ohio* martyr

(8) Switch argument to the "oh yeah, well .....we are 6-0* in the last 6 games. So nanny nanny boo boo"

You guys forgot:

Report the thread and all posts in the thread.

oh yeah. that's the "nuclear option," used when steps 1-6 fail multiple times and it looks like public opinion is completely lost.

*click* REPORT VIOLATION!!!

And ...And.... and then, posting in another thread that some 'TTUN'er' had reported the thread because he was pwning the 'Meatchicken' board and denying ever being a Tattletail
