That would be amazing. Unless you're a Wisconsin/Iowa fan.

I like having a conference championship game but right not the conferences are skewed. One is generally much stronger than the other. Add 2 teams means 2 more teams we won't play. Get rid of non conf. games.

I just hope they rename the conference at some point

I think it's a horrible idea

I want the big 10 to have less teams, not more.

My one thing is if conferences keep expanding, how exactly does that work for a conference title? There’s only so many games you can play and miss out on in conference opponents. What if a year occurred where a team like Northwestern dodges the likes of OSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan etc and went 11-1 or 12-0 and made the conference title game? Vice versa a team could get screwed by drawing the top dogs and rack up losses others avoid.

That already happens. Wisconsin avoided Michigan, MSU, Penn State, and OSU in 2015. I distinctly remember because I have some Badger friends that talked shit all year. Drove me nuts.

Yes. It already happens, so let's make it more likely by adding more teams!!

yay!

As weak as people (myself included) perceive the West, until this year they have at least been respectable entering the B1G title game which they have lost for 5 straight years now:

2014 Wisconsin was 10-2 and #13 entering the game. Beat Auburn in Outback Bowl
2015 Iowa was undefeated and #4 entering the game. Lost to Stanford in Rose Bowl
2016 Wisconsin was 10-2 and #6 entering the game. Beat WMU in Cotton Bowl
2017 Wisconsin was undefeated and #3 entering the game. Beat Miami in Orange Bowl.

Sadly the two division are not close to being equal.

Missed playing MSU, Penn st. They lost to osu in Big Ten title Game. There has to be a way to make it so the top two teams are playing in the conference title game.

I just want the playoffs like D2 and D3. I do want the big ten divisions to be equal but no way that can happen based on the Geography in the big ten.

Make it so a team like UCF has a shot at the big boys. Give teams like Ohio st who did end up 11-1, and Georgia 10-2 a chance at Alabama and Clemson. Give teams like Michigan who is 10-2 and ranked 7th a chance at redemption. Heck upset can happen. Instead of getting up for a Florida team in a meaningless bowl game the fans could be going to Alabama or Clemson this weekend. Now that would be exciting.

A different web blogger is saying it?s going to be Alaska and Hawai?i.

Speculation is rampant regarding whether the B1G will be changing its own logo or not.

Don?t get me wrong I?m not saying they would have had those records if they would have faced the East gauntlet but I think this year was exceptionally awful compared to the past, it?s not like it?s a 8-4 team from the West every single year.

Other team in the conversation to join the conference according to a highly reliable source: Florida, but this information is three years old. That it was going to 16 teams was a fait accompli in this person's opinion, and Texas was another program he mentioned to me. Louisville wanted in, but that was not going to happen. "They are not the sort of institution we want in our conference" ... or words to that effect. This was several years before the confirmation of the sex scandal and maybe the JLS connection was also too close to the quick.

2016 Wisconsin is all that needs to be looked at( L-UM, L-OSU, L-PSU). They hardly ever have a stacked schedule, but when they do, their accumulation of losses is dramatically different. The West needs reformatting. Nebraska might turn it around, if they get some defense and a little more skill players. If Texas and OU were added it would be a game changer for the Big10 and for them. The money would be through the roof. Add to that the Big10 could possibly get 3 teams in the playoff if it went to 8 games. I think if there is more realignment, strength of schedule would finally count and be brought in to determine the playoff teams. Right now it doesnt exist and that is why SEC teams schedule FCS teams.

I heard an LGBTQ/? organization is going to sue the University of Hawai?i for hate speech because they changed the team name from the Rainbows to the Warriors.

I?m perfectly fine with OK and TX joining the B1G as long they wait ?til I?m dead to do it.

Iowa was WAY overrated in 2015 - their inter-division games were Maryland and Indiana and they got DESTROYED by Stanford in the Rose Bowl.

in 2017 wisco got Maryland, Indiana (both 2-7 in conf play) and Michigan (5-4).
