OT: beer choices

So I'm currently enjoying the Criminally Bad Elf and its not horrible. I kept the pint in the fridge and enjoyed it in small portions in a snifter glass. It has a nice amber hue like a cognac and a malty/boozy aroma. It's fairly smooth with a sweet hoppy finish. Definitely a sipping beer not something you'll want to chug. I would buy it again.

It's nice and strong, I'm feeling it after just 1 pint.

Sounds a lot different than my Monster Ale.

It would be interesting to get your take on the one I bought, and vice versa. I might look for the monster ale for comparison. It could be that your mood affected the beer. If I wasn't in the mood for it I might have felt differently about it. I also started out totally guarded and kind of expected it to suck so I was pleasently surprised.

You're a beer snob that likes Samuel Adams and Molsen... :hehe:

Yes, as far as cheap beer goes. It isn't terrible beer like bud light, budweiser, coors, etc..but wouldn't be my beer of choice if everyone had killer beer. Bars unfortunately do not, more often than not.

Strongbow and Smithwick's are generally served at places I go when I drink now, so they tend to become the two I drink when I go out.

Although, feel free to find something wrong with these as well...

I generally buy either Fat Tire or Shiner Bock.

I got a Shiner holiday pack for Christmas. The bock was good, and the black as well. The prickly pear was too fruity for me ala summer Shandi.

I usually drink Killians or Sam Adams or Leinenkugels. Am partial to the red thru heavier darks... But I like to drink them all. LOL

Went out tonight and enjoied a couple Columbus brewing co. DIPA Bodhi. They were outstanding. Hiccup....I'm buzzin' buddy...

I will binge drink the hell out of a case of Tecate on a hot summer weekend. For the most part Mexican beers can be generalized as being the same and are but I also like most of them.

I think we'll have to try that. Red Beers are a staple on the menu at Mexican joints here in CO and a well-known "hangover cure."

And I love a good bloody ....
