not surprised by this, I was in a fraternity at MSU and I wouldn't put this past some other houses, especially sammys.

I know this is ripping on my school but I might as well get out in front of it and say I'm embarrassed about this one

funny. I saw this article yesterday and thought, "I hope sbee doesn't see this."

I was thinking about why this sort of thing doesn't happen more often. hotel rooms were, are, and will continue to be trashed on fraternity trips, but it's usually just one or two, and then only by the biggest meatheads in the group who are not getting laid that night (that distinction is key.)

the scale of destruction here is what's surprising... especially since there were apparently sororities invited as well. Like you had that many dudes drunk without hooking up on a ski trip? WTF? poor planning.

our fraternity trips were usually date parties, and that kept destruction to a minimum.

it seemed like ski weekend was a bit of a sausage fest because more guys liked to ski, maybe girls were less inclined to deal with potentially shitty accommodations like 30 people in a lodged designed to sleep 12. for everyone to get laid, it would generally require either some of the guys to bang each other or some girls to be open to banging multiple guys (whatever floats your boat).

I do remember my house getting kicked out for noise one year, driving back to EL from Boyne at 1am kind of sucked.

Unlaced timberlands and gold chains.

And yes, we all know the SAM demographics as frats go. And if not literally exclusive, certainly functioning that way.

we had a ton of asian grad students at MSU, lots from korea, all with the last name of Kim. I know the story that last names weren't common and all the serfs took the names of the noble land owners but it's confusing as hell.

I used to work at a golf course and make tee times, we'd have about 5-6 times every saturday under the name of Kim.

A real classy Walmart Sparty I went to HS with referred to M as 'Jew of M' and called W Bloomfield, 'West Jewfield'

We have a significant history on this front. Yost used to bring the baseball team to Japan in the '30s and they gave him samurai armor and a saddle. In WWII, Michigan picked up a bunch of Japanese professors when others were giving them the boot. I think we had some arrangement with the government to teach officers to read and speak Japanese.

SAM wasn't on campus when I first got there. Then the TEP house burned down, and the members quit and a lot of them reformed as a new SAM. These were the nicer kids uh among that demographic, back then. The real "jappy" guys were in AE pi. They were notorious hazers and indeed were booted from campus my soph year for shooting a pledge in the penis with a BB gun that was not supposed to be loaded.
