Okay, it has been forever since I followed baseball other than looking at the standings and a score here or there, so I apologize for not knowing this question.

With the current situation, am I correct that:

1. If the Yankees lose and Orioles win, they will have a 1 game playoff to determine who is the Division Winner.

2. The loser of possible game from #1 will then play a 1 game playoff vs today's loser of A's v Rangers.

3. Loser of #2 will be out and winner then moves forward as the #4 seed in the playoffs.

Do I have that correct? So there is potential that either Yankees or Orioles will have to play two consecutive 1 game playoffs??? Just seems crazy to me, but like I said I haven't followed baseball closely in a long time. If that is correct, that's gotta feel like No Man's Land for a manager in terms of figuring out a pitching rotation.

you're right.

I have to admit, I was against the extra WC at first, but look how it's made the season matter right down to the last day.

I may owe Selig an apology.

Um, take it out and it still matters the last day or did you forget 2 division titles are on the line.

Yeah, but the difference is you had teams like TB playing hard to get a WC that would have normally been unavailable. And Oakland and Texas playing for the division, but it's not a loser goes home situation like game 163 was.

The extra WC added a lot more scenarios to the last series, and in both leagues.

Maybe but that always happens or did you forget last year. But a far as competitive until the last day, it happened and it wasn't because of TB.

If you are the first place WC team then the WC absolutely sucks. I worked my butt off to get into the playoffs and now I have to play one more game to play in the real playoffs. That sucks.

Yep. It does suck.

That's probably how Atlanta feels...94 wins and they could go home if something fluky happens in that one game WC playoff.
