Uhh...nope...it sure looks like things haven't improved very much for the beleaguered Canadian band, ever since their controversial halftime performance @ Ford Field on TGD...lolz.

50 million albums sold....laughing all the way to the bank.

I'm completely indifferent to Nickleback, actually, just came across that article while reading my email, and thought the tweets and replies from the band were fucking funny.

ICP has sold over 10M albums worldwide, no discounting for one's musical tastes, obviously...heh!!

One of my favorite rock bands as a young teen was the Canadian-based Guess Who, I bought a few of their 45s back in the day, liked their song "American Woman" the most, and "Laughing" the least. I also went to see BTO perform @ Cobo in the mid-70s 75-76?, but they weren't very good live, their heavy bass & drums pretty much drowned out Randy Bachman's backup and Turner's lead vocals. They also didn't perform the song "Blue Collar" which was one of my faves.

Oh...and the band Rush for a while in the mid-late 70s as well, and the song "Working Man"off their debut LP being my favorite to this day...although much later learning about their connection with Ayn Rand in lyrical verses in some of their tunes was a bit of a turnoff.

I don't understand all the hate for Nickelback. Then again, I am not a huge music fan. I like some of their songs. Some are goofy.

I don't think every band aspires to be Led Zeppelin or Metallica. Some just wanna make money and have fun. And I am okay with that.

They suck! But a lot of people do like them. They're paid!!
