the job is a sham. it's just an excuse to get him in the door with minimal responsibility and eventually get him in a coaching position. Personally, i think he's a great college coach but would fail miserably in the nfl.
 
Stupid. Suspensions in the NCAA should have no consequnces in an entirely different league.

I agree, but then again, it's not binding, there's no reason not to do it, it's up to Goodell's discretion, so why not?

I agree the job is a sham. I also think Tressel will be a shitty pro coach. I don't think he's that great to begin with, and coaching in the pros eliminates his main advantage: being able to look the other way while his players collect $$$
 
The NFL and Goodell have a huge interest in protecting the integrity of the sport and it's "farm system."

It's not analogous to a basketball coach in the European Leagues winding up in the NBA and having some transgressions from Turkey follow him.

I think if it applies to the players bolting like T_Peezy then it should apply to the coaches too.
