OTAs

Lions running back Mikel Leshoure hasn’t had much luck staying healthy during his first two NFL seasons and number three isn’t getting off to all that promising a start.

Leshoure missed all of his rookie season because of a torn Achilles and then battled calf and ankle injuries last year. Now he’s being held out of the team drills at OTAs with an injury that the team hasn’t disclosed but obviously concerns them enough to limit Leshoure at this point.

“He’s battling some stuff,” coach Jim Schwartz said, via Chris McCosky of the Detroit News. “He can do some individual stuff but he’s not ready to do any team work.”

There’s no word on when Leshoure will be ready for a full workload nor is there much indication when safety Louis Delmas will be back with the team. Delmas is rehabbing the knee injuries that have vexed him in the last two seasons away from the team, an absence that doesn’t bother Schwartz because Delmas “can’t physically do the stuff we’re doing.” The Lions obviously knew there was a chance Delmas’ knees would continue to be an issue or they wouldn’t have signed him to a deal this offseason that carries almost $2 million in per-game roster bonuses.

Good to hear all this stuff. Not concerned about injuries at this point, it's May. Will be MUCH more concerned if they last into training camp.

Particularly good to hear Greenwood getting of to a solid start. I understand that speed does not = football ability, but if he pans out to be a legit #2 this secondary will have a ridiculous amount of speed!

Love the effort CJ......but someone coral that fucker and give him the Barry Sanders treatment.....meaning I don't want to hear his name until game 1, play 1.

It is early but its the same ole people getting injured that has me worried.

I hope to hear more about Fox and Nagy participating in practice. The other stuff............well hopefully no one gets hurt out there.

I'm betting Delmas needed another surgery after the year. He was playing hurt still when he came back last year and was limited in several games. Delmas has until training camp to get it right and they'll probably limit him in camp. He knows the system well enough at least to do that.

Broyles and Slay are recovering as expected. Glad to see Burleson, Greenwood and Bentley healthy enough.

LeShoure and Hill I'm worried about.

LeSuss we can do without.

Are you kidding me? The few games Broyles was healthy last year he was better than Burleson. Whenever he is healthy this season, Broyles will be on the field.

bye bye broyles' spot? Patrick Edwards impressing in OTAs.

Slay returned to the field.

Better odds....Bush with 2500 receiving yards or AP with 2500 rushing???

Are you high?

Edwards MAYBE makes the team on STs....maybe!! Or if Broyles is hurt and I still think it's a reach...

And neither Bush or AP come close to 2500 yards rushing/receiving. If I had to make a choice i'd pick AP.

nah don't smoke. Broyles is swimming laps and jogging in straight lines. Edwards can actually run and catch. People take advantage of other peoples injuries all the time...no reason to think he cant take snaps away from a guy whos been injured most of the last 2 years. Right now he needs to beat out mike Thomas who is apparently on month 6 of "still learning the playbook." Fucking brilliant trade that was.

I feel ya.

What did the Lions give up for Thomas? Im asking because i really dont remember. A 4th or 5th? Why do you care anyways? You'd just bash the draft pick regardless, right? Besides, our WR situation was fucked at the time and they brought in Thomas who has had some success in the past. Stop whining about it, you depressing little man....lol.

and the 'high' part was more about the 2500 remark. cmon man

ya lol the video shows clips of reggie for a the first little bit and all hes doing is running routes and catching passes. Dude could have like 200 receptions this year with how much Stafford dumps it down lol. So I was just messin trying to poke fun at APs stupid ass 2500 yd comment.

Yeah......the only way Bush is held under 60 catches is injury. Bell, LeShoure and Smith caught 96 passes last year.

Hopefully, they are ahead much more often in 2013.....so who knows.
