That was a crazy turn of events. Didn't know you could pick up a flag after it had been announced marked off and next play was ran.

If I was a Detroit Lions fan, I'd be screaming for referee blood about that.

Picking up that flag on a FLAGRANT pass interference by Dallas in the fourth quarter was the worse call... or non-call... the NFL has seen since... well... since the non-call on the botched field goal attempt in the Giants/ 49ers playoff game ages ago.

Shocking. Really shocking.

That's pretty unbelievable that they could call pass interference and then pick up the
flag with no explanation?? Not sure why?

While we're on the subject of that, by the way, how can they be 'all-star crews' if two-thirds of the eligible officials in the league get to officiate playoff games? Are 70 officials really 'stars?'"

Hmmm well let me try to answer that, becuase the league needs to make sure they got some in on it for these playoff games

I'm just more bummed today then yesterday...Lions should be preparing for Seattle...
Losing flat out blows.. Losing like yesterday is even worse.....Totally sucks...

They have a reason to play with a chip on their shoulder now. I hope they do. I hope like hell they do.

the schedule is a lot tougher next year.. We had a lot of wins verses marginal teams go our way....I sure hope we do.... But I have doubts...This is the Lions...

Just looking at next years schedule, i see 11-12 wins.

For that reason, I think the Lions will either make a step forward and be a championship threat or will slide back to 8-8 and miss the postseason. I don't think those kinds of wins are sustainable long term.

I think in the other thread I had 10-12 wins leaning more towards 12 than 10. Pretty early to guess though. Need to maintain the DLine while also upgrading the OLine. No easy task.

Oh, and more tight ends.

P.S. Fuck you Cris Carter. You've always been a piece of shit.

1) you get the top 70% of the officials in the post season. They don't become "all star" crews until the super bowl.

2) you cant change it....it was collectively bargained years ago because some linesman got to work 3 consecutive super bowls and it was viewed as unfair.

tough to say right now but for shits and giggles

Packers W - L
Vikings W -W
Bears W - W
Cardinals L
49ers L
Raiders W
Broncos L
Eagles L
Seahawks L
Rams W
Chargers W
Saints L
Chiefs W

I see anywhere between a 8-10 wins next year based on very little change in all of these rosters. Of course we know that many of these teams will change a great deal. It's fun to do anyway...kill some time at work!

well, it will get worse when they expand the playoffs...YIPPEEEE!!!

If we lose Suh its going to really hurt. If we lose Austin I think we are in real trouble.

A lot of FA on the defensive side of the ball. Coming from the #2 ranked defense I can see them getting paid.

We need a couple DT's and a handfull or corners.

On offense we need a couple people and at least a rb.

Hope Ross is gone. The only good thing about him were his hands and towards the end of the season he put way to many balls on the ground.

19-0 YEAH BABY!!!! GO LIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see 8 wins with the roster as is. A lot can change for the worse/better by week 1 next year. Mayhew has ALOT of work to do this offseason. Not sure which is more important but both aer very important...sign suh and fix the oline. Sign suh and fix the oline....don't even think about blue chip bullshit until you sign suh and fix the oline.

All true, but how many FAs are now willing to consider playing in Detroit? That is part of the FA puzzle. The D got major respect this year, so possibly they can upgrade even if they lose Suh and a few others. They will have a ton of money to play with if they let Suh leave. I'll take two top 10 DTs plus a top CB and even a top DE might be within reach by getting out of Suh's contract. That D could be #1 or 2 in more than just a couple stat lines.

I'd likely let Fairley go also due to injuries and lack of heart. Bring in two other studs for less money than Suh / Fairley command. Yes, there will be a drop off in the DT performance, but the TEAM would improve while the DTs are still strong.

The Suh/Fairley combo has been over-rated. Yep, you heard me. That's mostly due to Fairley, but throw in Suh's contract and suspensions, whether actual or potential...not worth the hype nor money.

I don't know about a ton of money. Suh's cap hit is still over $9M next year when he is gone. Of course with new guys coming in they can just push the money out into the future and just worry about it later!!!

The signing bonus is spread out across the length of contract in terms of cap it I think, so you could still get them paid upfront instead of promising to pay in the future. I think anyway...I'm not very good with cap stuff. LKP will probably correct me if no one else does.

Suh leaving we get about 4 million in room this year. 9 million still counts. Signing Suh it's possible to keep his cap number at 13-15 million. We will still be able to sign free agents even with a new Suh deal. Even with a Watt type deal for Suh.

I'm not as opposed to giving him a Watt type deal, but I will never be happy about the idea of the Tag which is supposedly $26M...seriously, that is price of 2 Suh-level players. That is plain stupid.
