Alright, we need 2 outfielders and then we can round out the pitching staff...

With all the quality choices, how does Herndon and Lemon get votes?

IMHO, the best 3 outfielders for DET was Cobb, Kaline and Heilmann. Why does he (Heilmann) only have 50% of the vote?

I went with Harry and Sam two HOFer's.... But love Goslin, Rocky, Veach, and Manush plus a few others..

Because some don't really care and vote for stupid shit is my guess.

Bc youngsters today don't give a crap about history. To them, Kirk Gibson is an oldtimer.

I vote for people I've seen play. And I wasn't around in the early 1900's.

Same here. I'd probably have gone with Maggs next though. People forget how great he was for us... '07 in particular where he hit .363 w/ 139rbi, 28hr and an OPS of 1.029.

Crawford and Heilmann with big leads. Thought Gibby would garner some support!

Tiger OFer Career OPS (2499 PA min with DET)

1. Cobb .945 OPS (13068 PA)

3. Colavito .865 OPS (2723 PA)
4. Kaline .855 OPS (11597 PA)
5. Ordonez .849 OPS (3530 PA)
6. Wakefiled .843 OPS (2499 PA)
7. Gibson .834 OPS (4773 PA)
8. Maxwell .828 OPS (3150 PA)
9. Granderson .828 OPS (2896 PA)
10. Kemp .826 OPS (2930 PA)
11. McCosky .820 OPS (2706 PA)
12. Veach .814 OPS (6782 PA)
13. Higginson .813 OPS (5660 PA)
14. Crawford .810 OPS (8869 PA)
15. Horton .808 OPS (5978 PA)

16. Lemon .786 OPS (4675 PA)
17. Fox .781 OPS (4281 PA)
18. Herndon .767 OPS (3011 PA)
19. Northrup .762 OPS (4926 PA)
20. LeFlore .754 OPS (3559 PA)
21. Stanley .668 OPS (5532 PA)

Tiger OFer Career OPS (2499 PA min with DET) and since 1981:

1. Ordonez .849 OPS (3530 PA)
2. Gibson .834 OPS (4773 PA)
3. Granderson .828 OPS (2896 PA)
4. Kemp .826 OPS (2930 PA)
5. Higginson .813 OPS (5660 PA)
6. Lemon .786 OPS (4675 PA)

How does Northrup, Lemon and Herndon get any votes? I could understand Stanley. Next to Paul Blair, he was the next best defensive CFer of his time. Lemon was good defensively, but hardly the best
