Paxton Lynch works out for Lions

Yes please, anything to bring in a young talented qb and get rid of Cassell.

Yep, no brainer. Stafford doesn't need an old vet sitting on the sideline to give him pointers anymore.

Think Stafford wanted an older vet. Someone he could trust to view additional film and give him breakdowns that he could trust.

Am I wrong or is Lynch still PS eligible? Stash him until you get him ready.

He can't have more than 2 accrued seasons.. So that would probably prevent him from being a PS eligible. Unless I'm missing something. But they brought him in so possible they're looking at him as a backup.

That's what I thought too, but Lynch came out of the 2016 draft, same as Ruddock who's on our practice squad, so there has got it be some loophole there somewhere.

Accrued season 6 games of full NFL pay.. To my understanding.

Here's a better description that I just searched for:

Accrued Seasons

The faster one accrues seasons the faster they can reach free agency, where, especially given the addition of the Rookie Compensation Pool, the bigger money is. If a player hits free agency at a young enough age, they could secure two or three large contracts through free agency.

In order to accrue a season, a player must be on (or should have been on) full pay status for six or more regular season games.

As with players earning Credited Seasons, a player can’t accrue seasons if he is on the Exempt Commissioner Permission List, the Reserve PUP List, or a team’s practice squad.
