Philadelphia 3 Detroit 2 Final

Rangers 33 points (2 games in hand)
Carolina 33 points (2 games in hand)
Wings 33 points
Ottawa 32
Florida 30 (4 games in hand)
Coyotes 30 (2 games in hand)
Devils 29 (3 games in hand)
Blues 28 (4 games in hand)
Flyers 28 (3 games in hand)
Hawks 26
Kings 25

Basically, just3 teams which can't match/exceed Wings point total just based on games in hand. Ottawa is just a single point back, meaning its just Hawks-Kings in the basement. Rest are in the big pack from the wildcard down to the bottom of the table where just a few points is the difference.

Games in hand to teams that are .500 or thereabouts is not a huge advantage. Especially when that means a more busy schedule like Detroit had last week.

Looking at standings is only fair when teams played same amount of games.

That is one of the things that actually makes constantly looking at standings in football worthwhile.

Sure but based on how they teams have played it not a surprise that for example the Blue go 2-2 or 1-2-1, or that the Devils don't go undefeated in those 3 games etc. so even with games in hand probably more than 3 teams would still be behind the Wings.

1997. Last Red Wing reagulation season win in Philadelphia lol!

Hey another bad loss to a first time goalie in Philadelphia. Shocker Detroit with another loss in that city.

Well Hammer you were right. Wings falling back down to earth.

This game was awful, but that Gudas goal should not have counted. That very minor bump by JvR was the reason why Bernier couldn't have pushed out and stop it.

Oh well. But overall, the team played a super boring game and so did Philly for most of it.

In the first 9 minutes there was 4 shots on goal.

Only east below Detroit are:
Florida 1 point back, 3 games in hand
Flyers 3 points back, 3 games in hand
Devils 4 points back, 3 games in hand

Closest wildcard is 6 points with a game in hand.

Hopefully Howard isn't out long term as that would trainwreck his value.
