Niese, who never has faced Detroit, is coming off of a five-inning, five-run effort in the Pirates' 6-5 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday.

I'm not watching the game but following it on gamecast. What a good AB by Jaso. Falls behind 0-2 on the first 2 pitches. Then fouls off several pitches in the 10 pitch AB before hitting a SF.
