What are they going to be? We are using JV, Fister, Scherzer, Porcello, then JV again right?

Yes.

The Yankees will match up with CC, Nova, one of Garcia/Burnett, and then probably CC on short rest.

I like the matchups if it goes JV vs. CC, Fister vs. Nova, Scherzer vs. Burnett. I think we win 2 of those games. However CC vs Porcello would be a win. Forcing Verlander to win with it on the line against Nova.

Yeah, they have a better lineup (though ours can be as good) and we have the better pitching.

The playoffs are largely a crapshoot, but I like our chances.

If it goes to game 5 and they pitched CC on short rest, we would be looking really good.

I hope Fister pitches in NY allowing Scherzer to be in Detroit. That would be for the best IMO and give us the best chance to win in 3.

Yeah as I posted in the other thread IF we made it to a game 5 with them starting CC on 3 days rest for game 4 it would leave a very favorable match-up with JV against Nova in game 5. However here's hoping we could close it out in 4 so that it would leave us JV and Fister to start game 1 and 2 of the ALCS.

That's how it's going to work out.

Looking at the ALCS schedule, if the Tigers take 5 to win it, Verlander would start game 3 on 5 days rest.

He'd be set to start game 7 of 5 days rest as well.

I might be in the minority but I'd like JV going 3 times in a 7 game series. Most of the good ones do. Assuming he starts at game 1 of the series.

I'm pretty sure Penny will pitch 2x with long relief from Perry.

I'd still go with the 3 man rotation thru out the playoffs, 1 J.V. 2 Fister 3. Scherzer. Porcello would be a longshot coming out of the pen behind Al Al and Coke. and Penny, forget about him, he wouldn't even make my roster.

I would have a hard time not seeing Verlander in game 4 and 7 or the ALCS or World Series if the Tigers were down at that point. I think you manage to the situation. If you are up 3-0 or 2-1, then Verlander doesn't pitch game 4. If you are down 1-2 or 0-3, then he goes.

yep, I don't know how they can't.

Garcia getting the ball for NY in game 3. Wow..Sherzer vs Garcia (in Detroit) doesn't even seem fair.

best 1 -2 in baseball right now but the match ups should be fun to watch all series. Nova/Fister will be just as good to watch as CC/JV imo.
