Plaxico makes some comments about Michigan's spring break camp in FL and the Detroit news essential attacks Burress. The original title of the article was "Plaxico Burress takes a shot at Harbaugh but not with and illegal pistol." They edited the title but it's still in the link.

The funny thing that's missing from the article is Harbaugh's record with one dui, one assault and battery arrest, and one drunk and disorderly. Add that to the fistfight with Jim Kelly and a bunch of other incidents, makes you wonder why the pot is calling the kettle black?

Shooting his mouth off ....
Shooting from the hip ....
1-3 vs MICHIGAN ....
Bankrupt ....
Poor man's Cheddar Bob ....

But the best part of the tweet is how he stresses people already @MSUFootball believe in the program.

You dumb fuck Sparty piece of shit, Harbaugh isn't recruiting current Spartans, he's recruiting kids to kick the shit out of current and future Spartans

I'm not really defending Plaxico's off field behavior, just pointing out the irony of the article ripping him when Harbaugh has a similar record. 3 alcohol arrests, kicked off the team and Michigan, fistfight with Jim kelly, criticizing Michigan for being a football factory and then ignoring academics once he's the head coach etc.

Also, the article was written by Jim russ, the online editor of the Detroit news who's twitter pic is Jim Harbaugh. It's just a joke how many people in the Detroit media are lining up to blow him after a season where he may have had the 4th best team in the big ten if you give the benefit of the doubt over Wisconsin

Also, as far as recruiting we really don't go after the same kids. MD is recruiting kids to kick the shit out of Michigan, the main difference between the two is that he's done it consistently while Harbaugh is selling hope. He's 0-2 vs msu and osu with an epic collapse against a hobbled msu team and an ass pounding vs osu, both at home. But hey, wait until next year....the new Michigan battle cry.

must be a pretty slow news day when they are writing about a Plaxico Burress tweet.

how could he be 1-3 against Michigan if he only played 2 years at MSU? He was .500 against michigan and was the best player on the field in both games but no doubt the most memorable thing from those matchups was him slapping David Terrell around like a rag doll en route to 255 receiving yards and a TD. I couldn't find his stats for the 1998 season, but I'm pretty sure he put up good numbers at michigan that year as well, albeit in a losing effort - that was the year michigan got 1/3 of the Big Ten title because we beat OSU (ironically, in a game where Burress had 3 critical 3rd down drops) when michigan couldn't even hang with them. Thank goodness for Wisco making it a 3 way tie to nullify the head-to-head tiebreaker.

I don't think he's declared bankruptcy either. He had some income tax issues but seems to have settled with the IRS and his net worth is pegged around $6mm - probably a fraction of what he made during his career but a decent chunk of change.

New Michigan Battle Cry? It's as old as "We didn't play Michigan Football." That whiny coach they have blamed it on the refs though, right after he through his players under the bus.

whining about the media = pathetic and lame.

I just find it amusing when one guy with a litany of off field incidents makes a comment about another guy with a ton of off the field incidents and a Michigan slap Dickinson editor writes and article that you'd expect to see on mgoblog

Keep in mind that vic is the ultimate lemming when it comes to Michigan football. His napoleon complex forces him to have a lot of his self esteem tied up in the football program and the fact that he had better grades than most of us at age 16. He's so desperate for football success that he'll embrace behavior that he'd criticize any other coach for.

You have to remember what you're dealing with

to be fair Harbaugh was more successful than MD was in his first season at MSU. A 10-3 record, a blowout bowl win over an SEC team and a top 5 recruiting class...UM fans should be hopeful.

But not as successful as Hoke was, 11-2, a win over Ohio State, and a win in a BCS Bowl, and a top 3 class. Michigan fans should STFU until they win something that means anything.

But they cant, so they have to win the PR battle. Can't win on the field so they have to have some kind of high ground.

But they have women's softball and swimming!!!

Der, they're a Woman's Lacrosse school now.

UM has two main rivals, OSU and MSU, the level of futility against it's two main rivals in recent years has to be unprecedented in sports history, it's caused a form of mental illness among Wolverines and walverinies alike. I mean, jeesh, it's brutal when you start looking at the numbers, 7 of 8 to MSU in Football, 13 of 15 to OSU in Football, UM has won 1 total game in basketball and Football in Columbus combined in 17 years. Izzo is dialing it up and has the MSU program light years beyond Beilein's UM basketball program. It's absolutely been a nightmare that UM fans could never have imagined. On top of their own futility, they have MSU and OSU playing for National Titles and winning the Big Ten, heck, even UM's 3rd rival, ND, recently played for a football Natty. Izzo took a low profile team to a Final 4 last season while Beilein couldn't muster an NIT birth, Izzo has MSU looking at a #1 seed, Beilein is hoping to upset Iowa to avoid the NIT. The results on the field have been torture for UM fans, just the ultimate humiliation year after year, if they aren't getting blown out by OSU in football, they're losing a heart breaker to MSU in football, if they aren't getting blown out my MSU Football they're losing a heart breaker to OSU.

The amount of bad karma UM had to have built up to deserve this decades long skin peeling has to be the size of Mount Everest. And on top of the results, off the field UM is a joke too, they've been among the conference leaders in arrests for several years and have had several high profile incidents. And now they have a savior football coach who has taken SEC/Urban recruiting tactics and multiplied them by 10. They are so all in on Harbaugh it's hilarious to think what happens if they don't win. They've thrown all of their pretend values out the window for a true snake, they lose and it was all for nothing. And their sport's academics remain a bigger joke than ever with harbaugh keeping the General Studies Major dominant despite being the primary guy who called UM Football out for their joke of an academic program several years ago, it's too perfect, you could not define hypocrisy any better.

"WHOA, HE HAS TROUBLE WITH THE SNAP, AND THE BALL IS FREE...!!!!"

If you want to be fair, then let's not make meaningless comparisons like this one. As bad as things were at michigan when harbaugh showed up, there's no comparison to the shit show that was MSU football when Dantonio took over - we had been in the dumps for the better part of 20 years by then. Harbaugh took over after a string of top 10 recruiting classes - I doubt any of the 4 classes at MSU preceding MD were even close to the top 50. Plus nobody knew who Dantonio was whereas Harbaugh was easily the highest profile hire in NCAA football since Saban at Alabama. He had had success at major programs in the NCAA and the NFL. Mark Dantonio became who he is at Michigan State. Harbaugh came to michigan as the crown prince and prodigal son all in one.
