How about "not backed by the educated guesses taken out of context made before any relevant studies we're conducted in response to things we learned about Covid"

Not
backed by science
I think that is what I?ll put on my mask.
Did I tell you guys he?s a Democrat?
So officially, not every urban leader who is a Democrat blows.
Astonishing to find a Democrat who is an urban leader with so much common sense in California, though.
Usually the red states have a corner on the market of smart Democrat urban leaders.
I didn't read you article but I did see another where you took a shot at the BLM folks saying that his defunded department won't be wasting resources inforcing the new mask mandate.
Well, technically it was the County Board of Supervisors who defunded their own Sheriff?s Department. I think he was taking a shot at them.
He focuses on other elected officials who actually have influence and authority in his sphere. BLM? BLshmem.
Did any place in America actually cut funding to their police departments?
I saw Conservatives freak out about it a lot, and liberal politicians and commenters on twitter scolding BLM people that "defund the police" wouldn't "play well in Peoria."
I recall some blurbs about NYC cutting NYPD funding, but others pointed out the changes were not real; they moved money around in a budget that all still went to the PD.
Maybe Portland did?
I recall another graphic showing funds for the LAPD dwarf everything else LA spends money on, and some people pointing out that our national police budget dwarfs other countries' military budgets... which is pretty insane when you actually think about it. Why are we such a heavily policed (and incarcerated) people? WTF is wrong with us as a country?
we have too many criminals here...that's what's wrong

Here it is:
$118bn was spent funding police forces in the U.S. in 2018, according to the Security Policy Reform Institute. It collectively makes American police forces the world's third-most expensive military organization, after the U.S.'s official armed forces and China's.
The chart is somewhat misleading, though, in that the same is basically true of other wealthy countries: per-capita spending on police in Europe is also very high, but the countries are less populous. Police forces in the UK enjoy some $25bn in funding, for example, a spend proportionate to the US total that nonethless places it outside the top ten on the that military spending chart.
But there's one thing that's plainly different: US police are militarized by policy, trained to treat the public as a threat, and kill people in far greater numbers than their foreign counterparts. The declared enemy of American police forces is the American people, and their war on us claims about 1000 lives a year.
I wonder how much China and India spend on their police? They each have three times as many people as the US does. The link on the boingboing article doesn't go to the original reporting; presumably someone dug it up
1,000 lives per year (with the overwhelming majority of those cases being justified use of deadly force) - that?s some war. Why has it taken so long to have this conversation? The evidence is in, defund the police now!
It?s amazing to me that someone could post something this stupid while accusing others of making mountains out of mole hills in another thread discussing something that's actually happening.
how many trans men (people that used to be women but added a dick) have been able to compete at the highest levels in male sports?
Anyways. not to get into the middle of you guys?s squabble, ....
oh no, by all means, feel free to join. the more the merrier.
even trying to draw this as an apples-to-apples comparison as you are, and accepting that a police officer killing someone is as harmful as a transgender woman competing in a women's athletic contest, American police kill ~1,000 people each year.
How many transgender women are competing in women's sports contests in America right now? Do you even know?
a while back, I included a link to the MHSAA head in Michigan saying they already had rules to address this, and it was so rare as to be a non-issue for them, which you dismissed off-hand because you evidently believe you know more about high school sports than an actual high school sports administrator...
talking to you is like talking to a brick wall.
(apologies to brick walls for the insulting comparison).
"justifiable force"... according to the police, who never lie, except when they're using force against Republican protestors, in DC, on 1/6/21... all other times the police tell the truth though.
