What is a homophone?

Is that something a gay guy uses to call another gay guy to ask out on a date?

I meant homophone ('hom' like 'bomb') not homophone ('hom' like 'dome'). The problem here is there's two ways to pronounce this, which makes it a heteronym (which is a real thing I'm not making up.)

This is amazing. This is not their, they're, there. This homophone substitution has nothing to do with not understanding which spelling is the correct one. I feel like a neurologist could tell us interesting things about this.

I'm not making fun. I do weird things like this occasionally and I think it's fascinating.

I noticed that too, once was odd but it happened twice - in back-to-back sentences...

what will happen under the the knew model. We have know idea how...

I usually catch when I screw up "there, their and they're" either on the fly or proof reading. Different kind error but I used to type "teh" instead of "the" virtually every time (which is a lot) and it took over a year to break the habit.

Bob needs to start going back and obsessively editing his posts for typos like you do, or else he'll be a beta cuck libtard idiot.

You edited this one again.

I guess you needed to get the post *just right* so that your subtle and sophisticated sense of humor would come through.

Bob might have to go back to the 5th grade.

The most commonly posted grammatical error that I have noticed online is using a possessive apostrophe in a plural word, (for example "Republican's") and it isn't the Left who is doing so.

In addition the frequently posted veiled insult of Democrat, instead of Democratic by members of the GOP.

to be fair, a lot of the left on this board use the term republitards, not republicans

But that is intentional, as is "libtard".

Not a case where someone isn't a good speller, has a limited vocabulary, or tend to make more grammatical mistakes than usual. I try to avoid posting any criticism when I notice it, b/c there are those on "both sides" here on DSF who do. Including the Lions and Tigers team forums.

I would say it's more a misnomer or the wrong name rather being grammatical; not unlike the way some board rivals change the user names of their rivals when addressing them.

Here is a little on it by FactCheck online.

there's nothing subtle about my sense of humor in this case and I edited it so you wouldn't be disappointed.

We have a poster here that doesn't have a very good grasp of the English language. That same poster is quick to call people stupid, etc. if they don't have the same political beliefs that he has. I have a hard time ignoring the irony when he calls someone stupid, but in the same post, he has several grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and misused words.

you couldn't possibly offend me - no matter how hard you try. I do find this post funny given that you're the guy who started the name calling in this thread and has added nothing but insults and stupid pot shots. Well done Forest.

The typical Spartan fan has no idea what barbeque is and will use the word to describe grilled hotdogs.

(This is a Catch 22 of offensiveness.)

not offended, and I didn't have to move to North Carolina to know the difference between barbeque and grilled food. Put that in your maize pipe and smoke it!

edit: or stick it in your smoker and smoke it!

There's the catch. Not being offended by that is even worse.
