Prediction thread idea

Anyone interested in making the prediction threads a little more interesting?

maybe we can track who wins the most prediction threads during the season, and they get to be like the honorary board chairman or something?

I make this suggestion openly acknowledging that my own performance in these threads is lousy.

I'd even contribute to making an honorary trophy that we add winners to each year.

What would the trophy be besides its own thread.

You could do that if you want.

Anyone who would want to ignore it could do that.

Like I'd go buy a trophy at a trophy shop, and have the winner's name engraved each year. I'd take a picture of it and post it on the website. it's like $50 for a trophy and engraving a little plaque is only a couple bucks more.

or we could send it to the winner each year, unless people are squeamish about sharing their addresses. the winner would have the responsibility of shipping it to the next winner.

but I've been in fantasy football leagues where people are too lazy and cheap to even mail a fucking $25 check, or send it paypal, so maybe relying on anyone to keep it going is a dumb idea.

Whatever you guys decide . i will chip in 5 bucks on paypal. I'm Terrible at Michigan predictions so i will never win.

My score predictions have been historically pretty lousy. Maybe a virtual trophy? It could be provided to the winner as a picture that they could post below their board name (like General WT Sherman).

you are so right. I run a league that's only $40. I've had guys that have been behind with their payment by 2 years.

I vote for this. I'd love to do a physical trophy, but I think we all know that will go the same way fantasy league dues go. I'm the commissioner in my fantasy league and I should just change that title to professional cat herder.

Don't you lock roster moves until you get paid?

That seemed to finally get deadbeats to pay up.

paypal has also made it easier to add money to your account without having to link it to a card or bank account. just print a voucher, and take it to CVS along with however much cash you want to add.

hmmm... it's gotta be smaller than 100x100 pixels or something like that. maybe we could create something still legible that size.

It's a beer league. The eleven losers owe a 12 pack to the champ.

I'm trying to change that and just have everyone give me the money up front and then I'll go purchase everything for the winner.

I remember a saying about sailors playing cards "for fun" i.e. no money was like food without salt.

Bragging rights are better when everyone plays harder, and they play harder if they have a stake in it.

Seems like there is a lot of space below the name of the poster when posts are made. Can that space be utilized? I don't know what is possible. Hell, I didn't even know that the picture below the posters name is called an avatar. So...
