Preseason Game 3: Jaguars @ Lions

The classic bend but don't break approach for the secondary

I'm so tired of it. Its fine that they are able to usually make tackles short of the first down marker on second and long but to often they give up big plays that extend drives and keep the defense of the field.

Anybody else watching on first row? If so, did your links all die?

Offense looked good at times. Slow start from Stafford with 1 (should have been 2) picks, but he looked good the rest of the way. Bush did what he does with his long run TD. Bell is a solid #2 runningback. Nothing is really being learned about the offense that we didn't already know. Tate should be solid.

Defense did ok..a few too many pressure situations that didn't finish the job. Again what else is new? Lots of penalties. Check.

Looks like the Lions.

So what's the impressions so far?

Penalties all over the place. Can't catch the easy INT's.

Staff started off rough, but has completed every pass since started 1/5.

Bush with a hell of a run to call it an early night.

Bell looking good.

CJ doing well, as is Tate.

No Broyles sightings yet.

Our backup DE's are outperforming our starting DE's.

Oline is doing well.

Bortles is looking good for the Jags, then again, it's against prevent defense so yards WILL be given up. I want to see how he does in the 3rd.

Pretty vanilla stuff so far. Meh.

Stafford rebounded but was ugly with capital u early. Can't believe that de dropped that far but he telegraphed. Should have had two picks

Good d so far though. Run and coverage against sub par weapons. No Ihedigbo and van noy

Whitehead is all over the field. Looking good

Return units dumb penalties.

Ebron blocking sprung the big bush run

Stafford connected on the wide open throws, didnt make any tough throws.
Offensive weapons look good. At least we won't be able to blame the weapons if Staff struggles.

Dline looks good, LBers ok, Secondary mostly bad.

So we look the same as last year with a few more weapons on offense.

Would feel a lot better if they didn't get stuffed in redzone on one drive
