Presidential elections by state education

Reminds me, and it's been a while, but I used to like to go there, and get can of Foster's lager at the Ralph's (it's called Kroger in other places) and stroll around the place and drink my can of beer out of a brown paper bag and just celebrate the conceptual decadence of it; haven't actually suggested it to him, but I think it would be fun if my pal Vic would join me in this activity on one of his trips out this way.

Had to read that twice. "Conceptual decadence". I don't think I'm too much of a beer snob, but "decadence" describing Foster's lager would be going too far.

most malls built in the last couple decades have been open air. closed air malls are dying out.

I guess the mall-development real estate moguls figured open air malls would revitalize the format. Who knows?

the malls I've been to in Chicago seem like they're doing well if they're in areas with lots of people who have money to spend, and not if they're not. the format didn't seem to have much to do with it.

Yeah ya can.

Is that a Kardashian?

And I agree w/ Gulo, Fosters is shit beer in Australia. Although, I'm told what we drink here is actually Crown Lager packaged in Fosters cans for marketign in the US. Crown is better but still probably a few notches below decadent.

As for chump making a career switch, he might be able to find work on the sell side given his talent for making up and peddling a bunch of bullshit but when it comes to actually taking risk and making money, you need to be a little better than just a master of the obvious...

Yes. It is, and it she herself.

The decadence is not that it is Foster's beer. The decadence is carrying an open intoxicant on on the hallowed ground where Madonna Kim treds.

This is nothing to be knocked...I actually do pretty well doing it, thank you very much...

I have no interest whatsoever in working in finance or investment banking.

Yeah, but the comedy writing is a front.

I actually make my real money in charity fraud.

EDIT: As much as I would like to claim originality...I have to confess...I'm actually stole a joke here from Cheers.

In the episode where Cliff meets his father, who had abandoned him as a child, the father, at the end of the episode, tells Cliff that he has to leave the country due to problems he's experiencing with his business; but asks Cliff to come with him, and assures Cliff that he has enough money to support them handsomely.

Cliff: "Dad, what is your business?"

Dad: "Real estate fraud."

I do get paid what amounts to about gas money for some of the charities I work with; certainly not a living and far, far less than what I used to be paid by all the media/show biz companies companies who all ended up ultimately firing me.

Technically, what I said is still true. So I repeat,

Thank you...and whomever it was who wrote that joke in the writing room on the set of Cheers between the stinking Chinese food and the stinking Indian food had also written/copied/stolen (as I sit here and think about it, the joke was probably stolen by the writer for Cheers for that episode) had also probably written/copied/stolen better jokes than that.

And, yeah, it isn't the best joke ever.

But I don't think it's the worst either.

EDIT: Everybody knows this is the funniest joke ever.

And Gulo, how could you possibly have not commented on my Eric Idle's last visit to the set of Craig Ferguson's thread?

The beauty, the sorrow, the sentimentality of the whole thing...how? How, I ask you...how?

it's not terrible - I just felt like being a smart ass. My original response was something along the lines of that's either your job (ripping off charities) or a joke, in which case you were doing your job (writing jokes) but it didn't really work and I didn't feel like taking the time to make it work so I took the low road - but I thought it was kind of clever and not really insulting.

I was wondering the same for you after my comment about Gulo travelling through time naked to Austria, getting Mr. Von Trap's nanny to make him some lederhosen from his curtains and wearing them to assassinate Hitler at his Austrian vacation home...

My experience went like this: <click>...a half-hour video!?...<click>

Sorry.

Is there a TL:DW other than what you've already said?
