Ranked #16 in Both Polls

Agree, sounds about right. Maybe they can move up higher if they can beat PSU, ND, and MSU.

If we win at PennState we're a top ten team. or clearly should be, even if we can't consistently play like it due to STUPID playcalling.

pre-season I said the game at psu was a likely loss in part because ND is the following week. Now I'm doubtful about about four-five of the remaining games.

That game is at 7:30 and a white out. Easily in the top 10 if they win but they won't if the play calling and QB play do not improve a lot.

IF they hold everyone to 3 points, they win a lot of games!!

Sagarin's rankings put us at 13th, and we'd be favored to win all remaining games using his metric except PennSt and OhioSt.

We'd be narrow favorites against ND, but only because the game is in Ann Arbor.

His rankings factor out all the hysteria, so that's good. we got a nice bump from beating Iowa.

Hopefully more reps against Illinois will help this offense. No where to go but up !

I thought Illinois might be decent, but then I checked their record (2-3). it looks like if it wasn't for Brandon Peters, they'd be 0-5 right now.

Hopefully we cruise to a big win, with LOTS of reps for the offense. Maybe as much for Josh Gattis, as for the players.

Ya know, when Gattis came in and it was pointed out that he hadn't called plays, I thought, "Well, he has access to all of Alabama's film for the last few years, he can watch and chart: down, distance, and position on the field to see what they were successful with and which plays didn't work."

After five games, I don't think he has. Of course, Shea's inconsistency plays a part, too. If more passes were on-target, the offense could get into a tempo. It's happened on a few individual drives, but it doesn't carry-over to the next drive.

We as fans assume that coaches do their jobs, and in this highly paid profession, they've all done their homework. most of them probably don't do shit. and even when they do, they're doing it wrong.

I think we're all still operating under the assumption that Harbaugh wouldn't let the program slide back to the "country club" atmosphere that Hoke allowed, even though everything he's been doing over the past few years suggests otherwise. We need crazy Jim from year 1 back.

I agree with BP. What has happened to Jim ? Because he is not the same coach as he was in his first year.

I’ve heard that from Manuel to some Boosters, coach was asked to tone it down.

"Yes, let's not be embarrassed by our coach's actions. Let's be embarrassed by losing 3 or 4 games a year instead."

Winning fixes everything.

just sayin' ... some didn't like his 'antics' and felt it was to the disadvantage of the team during games.

I think it was to the advantage of the team. That team played hard and overachieved in relation to their talent. Last year and so far this year the team is underachieving. I remember the shirts he gave out for anyone that made it through all of spring practice his first year, now they're going to Rome. I don't think that the trips are a bad thing, I just wish that that crazy-competitive, "attack each day with an enthusiasm unknown to mankind" Jim was still there and I just don't see it.

And agree that he can get away with a lot more if he's winning. Nobody's going to say shit to him about throwing stuff on the sidelines if his in the CFP.
