RB Chris Evans suspended for season

I enjoyed Chris a lot on the field. But there was just something... not great about him. I thought he had SO much more in the tank to be an all-timer. Just could not put my finger on it.

Yep. He had good acceleration, but seemed to always go down on first contact and not have that field vision that is ever so important. He was good as a passing option out of the backfield, but Michigan rarely took advantage of that in the last couple of seasons.

Detroit News article said he can come back in 2020 if he gets everything in order.

Does anyone know anything about the details of the suspension? The link in the OP says he was suspended by the University, not the football team, due to-in Evans own words ?an academic a mistake.?

That?s all that was reported in the link.

That does seem to be quite a blunder. Does anybody know any more details?

no but there has been a lot of speculation and rumors floating. The term "academic mistake" is all that I have seen so read into that what you want. If it was cheating on an exam or paper, that would be covered by "academic mistake" but Evans has said he's on track to graduate, it isn't a GPA issue or something that would warrant expulsion, so my guess is that it's relatively benign, albeit an infraction for a football player ...whatever he did.

The rumor I heard that sounds legit is that he had someone else take a test for him and they got caught.

I got a funny story on that note. When I was at Tennesse, James Stewart(Lions and Jaguars RB) and myself had 2 classes together our freshman year. One was Anthropology in Dr. Bass' class(yes thee Dr Bass). We had a huge test in the beginning of the semester and I was NOT prepared. I let Stewart look at my answers and needless to say, we both bombed it, lol. He never said anything to me about it at practice and he never copied off me again.
