The Philadelphia Inquirer expects the Eagles to fill their middle linebacker need in free agency rather than the draft.
Boston College's Luke Kuechly is a popular mock draft pick for Philly, but they won't be taking him if they sign a veteran starter. The Inquirer suggests Stephen Tulloch, who has played behind Wide-9 schemes his entire career. The Eagles run the same system. "How [the Eagles] didn't get this guy last year is beyond me," said one NFL scout of Tulloch. "They may have to pay this time."

I read Tulloch said he wants to test the market...I dont expect him signed.

Damn. It'd be very tough to replace his production.

Wow, if we lose Tulloch that's a pretty big blow. Seems like a great locker room guy and a superb fit in our system. Really hope we get this one done.

This is the second deal MM should be working on. First off why the fuck hasnt CJ been restructured? Secondly, why the hell hasnt tulloch been resigned? Screw all the talk about avril...that should be down the list.

When you sign him to a cheap 1 year deal its not unexpected. I know we didn't have much cap in '11 but Durant got 2 years, why not Tulloch?

from what I heard the Lions prefer Levy in the middle rather than outside where he struggled

I think they wanted Levy to move back to the MLB spot in 2012.

Yeah I guess but IMO Tulloch is the better player so why not keep the better player?

I won't be happy unless he's resigned, he was a playmaker last season and they desperately need him back. Unfortunately it all comes down to $$$.

I think its more than money. If Schwartz wants Levy in the middle. Tulloch has no spot here.

They've done this to Levy twice. Once with Foote and now once with Tulloch. Make up your mind already Jim.

+1. Levy was shit out the outside and he was just slightly less shitty in the middle. Why would you want that instead of tulloch who was solid and a leader on your defense. IMO, this is even dumber than not resigning Avril last year when he woulda been a lot cheaper and wanted to sign. Why bring a guy in for a year, have him be basically the heart of your defense, then let him go....effing dumb.

last year Tulloch was a real late sign and they were up against the cap and knew they had trouble coming for 2012 and couldn't give him his long term deal....they always wanted Levy in the MLB spot from the day he was drafted , they've said it numerous times.

sadly with Tulloch he is going to get a big offer somewhere....Ive read the Eagles really really want him...we'll see

but like stated up above it's $$$$ time for Tulloch he has basically played for cheap all through his career and this is the time he needs the big guarantee $$$.

slick, you have a guy that can lead your defense for the next 5-6 years at the mike or a guy that you havent had faith in for the last 4 years and now he wants 10+ million a year and will get you maybe 10-12 sacks, has already proven hes not loyal, isnt good against the run, and will hold out if you tag him. Who are you signing, and who are you letting go?

This is stupid that i even have to ask why Tulloch wouldnt be resigned before Avril.

Read the wall bro. He wants his money too, deserving so and they want Levy in the middle. Has nothing to do about what Slick or anyone else says.

dude I banged the drum last year for Tulloch the day the season ended...he was the ONLY FA I wanted.

I'd lock up Tulloch before Avril in a fuckng heartbeat.

I said Tulloch wants to get paid...he's played on the cheap his whole career...first on his rookie deal , and then last year on a pretty economical 1 year deal here.

ofcourse it's about the $$$

Tulloch wanting money equates to about 6-8 mil per......avril wanting money is quite a bit more than that and tulloch is more important.

this is still a no brainer if im MM.
