First 5 game winning streak since January 2015. Jeff's first 5 game streak has Red Wings head coach.

This team is surprising, and now I'm trying to figure out whether to buy them as a strong team or look at this win streak as more of a mirage. Wins are wins, but they are still one of the worst possession teams out there. The defense still can't consistently clear their zone or close down shooting lanes. We do legitimately have two quality goalies, which can help mitigate some of that. The wins have been fun as hell to watch, but I don't think I can jump on them being all that different from the team that looked lost losing their first two games. But maybe this can be the start of them turning a corner.

One thing they did say Iate in the third is the Wings are alot bigger then last year. I mean did ott 6'0 and Vanek 6'2, Sproul 6'4, Nielsen 6'1.. I mean that is not all that big but they did talk about it.

Just enjoy them as they come.. Long season.

I'm massively impressed with the bounce back after 0-2. I was starting to enter the camp that they need to go the route of getting a high draft pick to get some excitement back. However, guys like AA, Sproul, Marchenko are all playing great. And Vanek has been a great surprise.

Hope Nielsen can get going.

Sproul to me has been very surprising. I did not realize he had such a hard shot, and he is damn solid in his own zone. I am glad to see hes been a fixture in the lineup thus far, but am interested to see what happens once Kronwall comes back into the lineup. I have a feeling it will be Sproul who gets scratched, but it honestly should be Ericsson.

AA is no surprise - he produces damn near every game even though he is always at the bottom of the team in Ice Time. Once Abby comes back, I hope AA stays in the lineup - they should push Sheahan down to the 4th line and scratch Miller or Ott. There is zero reason to not have AA playing every game...

Why would they scratch Ericsson? He has looked great so far this season. I think playing bottom pair minutes is really helping him thus far. They nned to scratch Marchenko or Smith before Ericsson based on play thus far.

I agree Ericsson has looked better since his minutes have been reduced, but I wouldnt quite say hes playing great. I think Smith is playing better, but thats just my opinion.

I wouldnt have a problem scratching Marchenko as hes struggled at times this season, but I think his upside is much higher than Ericsson's, so Id prefer to see him try to work some things out, rather than bench him. But I know for a fact Blashill will never scratch E, so its a moot point.
