We should be so lucky...

Maybe they'd like McClendon too?

I also read this in Mad Magazine.

lol.
One of those links said he was a coach for them in 2001 when Jimy Williams was the manager.
oh boy, bring back 'buffoon city' for the redsox nation.
this would make my off season here.

from around the web,
Shh... don't tell them anything. Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll go.

Gene Lamont to interview with the Red Sox? Soon to trend in Detroit: YAY hahahaha and WTF.

Already trending in Detroit: Lord knows, "lord knows why the red sox would want gene lamont as their manager."

Dave Dombrowski said last week Tigers hadn't received requests from teams to talk with any of their coaches. So Lamont is a recent add.

wonder what Gene Lamont thinks about fried chicken and beer in the clubhouse. I mean, I wonder if he thinks about anything but.

According to jason beck's most recent article, Gene Lamont is Leyland's strategist. This explains so much....

please please please please PLEASE take him off our hands, Boston!

I wish him all the best of luck in his interviewing. Perhaps we can start a letter writing campaign to further help his chances?

Start a change.org petition like they did for Nickelback to not play the Lions Thanksgiving halftime show.

I'll even help pack his bags, whatever help he needs, I'm 100 % all in favor of Lamont becoming the next manager of the Red Sox!!

what the hell is wrong with the red sox do they want to start losing again....lol

It's all about being PC. Can't discriminate. Interview the Black candidate. Interview the Hispanic candidate. Interview the candidate w/a huge gut. And so on and so on....Then hire Buck Showalter, Jim Fregosi, Gene Mauch....

Come on Boston, take him, the fans in Detroit are taking up a collection to help you pay his salary right now.

Just don't be surprised when he orders the 3rd base coach to hold up the runner at third on a home run.

Or sends the runner on 1st home on a bloop single.

There's zero chance he gets it, but we can always hope. After the Red Sox implosion down the pennant stretch, I guess anything's possible.
