Tigers GM Al Avila just announced Ron Gardenhire will retire, effective today.
The Fuckery known as Clown Shoes Al Avila has Lloyd running the ship with no direction for rest of the year.

The Tigers were too much for Gardenhire. Can't blame him for calling it quits due to Avila's mess.

Watch Avila hire Legendary Lloyd as the manager for 2021.

He had a good coaching career. Just one bad mistake, joining the Tigers - who beat him into submission.

It’s time again to hear from our readers! Today is the day to let us know what you’re thinking on a selected topic.
Sunday is the one day of the week where we open up the comment parameters for you, so you can get those juices flowing.
Comments on THIS DAY ONLY can be expanded to a maximum of 8 sentences.
We can’t wait to get your thoughts on the following topic.

Ron Gardenhire, rather abruptly, announced his retirement from baseball on Sunday, citing health concerns. What is your reaction to the news?

I agree with what Holly posted about Avila and Gardy, who was a perfect pick @ the start, b/c he skippered FOUR consecutive 90+ loss twins teams from '11-'14, after mostly 90 win twins teams from '02-'10...although winning only one postseason series in his first year...and only one game or none during each postseason series that the twins played in during the rest of the decade.

But for how long can anyone keep on dealing with all that losing over a 10 year span...even with a 3 year break in-between...and culminating with a 114 loss season? This season's Tigers team very likely would have also lost 100+ had not this pandemic intervened.

Whoever what passes for the franchise's braintrust really caught a break with this abbreviated farcical season, and will still use the "rebuilding" excuse for a 5th season next year as well...even though most other MLB franchises consider rebuilding to last 2 or 3 seasons @ most. The Tigers next manager should give us a good idea of the direction that the ballclub is heading into the middle of the 20s...or perhaps if it is just biding time until being sold off.

Today, our writers take another look at the events of the past week and choose a direction for each of the 4 categories.

Looking at the previous week through Sunday, what were the most memorable things we saw happen that were worthy of questioning, praise, observation and a warning?

We will give Kurt and Holly a maximum of 2 sentences each to support their claims.

Let?s kick this off?

What managerial candidate in his right mind would want to buy boots tall enough to wade in the bulls*it that the Tigers’ front office continuously pumps forth?

I think the biggest problem would be the lack of talent...not the front office.
