Smith is supposed to be back. Hopefully he learned how to handle a pass cause he's been awful at receiving them in the defensive zone just coughing them up to opposition forwards. I cringe everytime he is on the ice this season.

The Wings are currently staring down a top 10 pick in the draft. The Sabres have seemingly been rebuilding forever. I hope for a win and the start of a surge, but there's really been no indication so far that the Wings have a playoff team hidden inside. This is probably going to be more indicative of whether the Wings get a top 5 pick or a top 10 pick.

It's actually been pretty depressing to watch this year, which is why I've posted so little after the early hot streak. I'm really really hoping we can find a way to squeak the streak out one more year.

It is only going to get worse. The Wings have been up against the cap for years now but its only going to get worse.

Tatar is up for a new contract at end of season. Mantha and Larkin have an additional year left on their entry level deals.

Smith is also up at the end of year.


If Vanek gets traded at the deadline it will be Holland signaling the start of the rebuild. Holland has appeared to be rather clueless since Nill left the team.
