Sanchez wants 6/$90MM

Reasonable asking price.

He's obviously going to get in the range of 15 mill per for at least 4 years, so that's a reasonable starting offer from his side.

Probably sings for 5 years 15 mill, but some team might even reach out to give him 6.

The guy gets hot for six weeks and wants the GNP of Venezuela in compensation? No thanks.

Reasonable.

LOL.

I bet people thought the same thing about Barry Zito's contract.

He'll probably get his $15 million per, but he's not worth that.

So maybe he should ask for less, eh?

Yeah, he's asking for a reasonable price based on the market.

I'm sure "he's" not asking for anything.

His agent is.

I guess my point was when I was at a job and wanted more money, I always went high so if they went lower I'd still be happy. Granted, I doubt it works that way in professional sports but if you're smart player or agent etc you go high right away.

True, but that can also backfire and frighten potentially interested teams away.

Personally, rather than make figure, I'd wait and see what offers come in first, and get some kind of a gauge on what the value is, then negotiate from there.

The agents always start high. My best guess is he will land a 4 year deal for $56M or $14M per year.

He will get a 4-year deal with 2 option years. There will be performance metrics he must reach for years five and six to kick in. All total, if achieved, the deal will be 6 years for $90 Mil.

The more things I read about this situation, the more I say FUCK HIM! Twelve million dollars a year for a guy that is probably not even worth twelve million a year is insulting? What's next, "14 million per season is not enough to feed my family!?" Look elsewhere.

His rejection probably has less to do with the actual amount per year, as it does not being 6 years.

He want's to be able to get paid even if he starts to suck in a few years and gets DFA'd by someone.
