Watching Scherzer pitch Sunday was like reviewing an old nightmare. Talk about too many Balls to strikes. I really did not know why the Yanks got any hits, with all the walks they got! I know the UMP was not giving him any thing but he really was not on the plate that much.

And really the Tigers hitters did not help the strike zone with there at bats. Swinging at almost everthing thrown up there. Eldred swing before he gets into the batters box. Ever Tiger but Cabrera and Laird had at least one K. One of Jackson's strikeouts was classic, he couldn't of hit the 3rd strike with the broad side of the barn had he had one to swing with.

But really Scherzer did not pitch well. and the defense on the infield is. Well there is no defense. Just look at the groundball outs (7) to flyball outs (12) and you see that A pitcher like Scherzer (GO 3,FO 7) is in trouble with the Tigers infield.
Defence is going to have to get better for Scherzer to win! And a better strike zone.

The Tigers are a free swinging club, but one of the better pitchers in the league was out there throwing.

CC located his fastball, which made his good breaking stuff even more effective.

Scherzer had terrible control against a disciplined team. Predictable outcome.

I've come to a conclusion that Scherzer is no better than a #4 and won't ever be. He'll be 28 soon and I wish we'd just trade him.

As I said before million dollar arm, 10 cent head. At this point he is not in fulfilling a #4/#5 spot obligations.

He was pitching decent until the blown stike out call in the 2nd to jeter. If he gets the punch out there its a different game. He needs to get mentally tougher and not let that stuff bother him but that was a bad call.

Too inconsistent. Bad calls happen to all pitchers. I just we get rid of him for 2B or an OF.

I see no point in moving a guy when his value is at its lowest. That's what terrible organizations do.

As bad as max has been, I have hopes that he will improve

Leyland hinted that a minor league option is possible for Scherzer if he doesn't straighten out rather quickly. just FYI.

I'd have no issue with that. That's worked well for Max in the past. Anybody can come up here and give us an ERA north of 8.00 and keep us out of the win column, so why not?

if it does happen, id figure theyd keep below in the rotation and just swap fister for scherzer on the roster when fister comes back until max gets it figured out.
