Schwartz is pissed

I mean I'm sure if they could pick it they'd want NE/Pit and Gb/Saints in the super bowl. Better ratings better money. But I don't think they have a say in it, like fixed refs.

Last year the seahawks beat the saints, I doubt the nfl wanted that to happen.

I usually don't bitch about the ref's.....but last night was fucking horrid.

lions were still outmatched and stil would have lost , but a few of those calls were on the absurd side.

I'll usually make a comment about the refs missing a call and then just move on. That happens all of the time. Yesterday was just riduculous...and we've seen that a few times against us this year. It's a lot tougher pill to swallow when you are getting ref raped in the playoffs. I've never seen a team get away with so much holding before.

the one side judge for sure was a Saints homer....that dude was racing in there giving the "hometown" spot.

the one time on 3rd and short , he flew in there giving them a spot 2 yards past where the other side judge had the spot....Saints ended up going for it on 4th and making it , but the guys spot after the 3rd down run was a joke.

Yeah there were some bad calls. And costly dropped ints.

The only game I can remember me blaming the refs is this years iowa game for michigan.

And the playoff game vs the cardinals ended pretty shitty too.

I don't understand how that 2nd Bree's fumble wan't ours? He reached out and got the first but lost the ball right after. Can someone fill me in? am I missing something?

I thought I saw that too but in the middle of a big pile, bah. They were blowing the whistle way too early.

I'm still pissed about the refs too, but trying to move on. Just to point one out that hasn't been brought up in this thread was the play where Young caught the ball on the sideline and nearly had his head ripped off, but the only penalty was the flag for holding on the OL when EVERYONE who isn't a Saints Homer recognized the Saints OL was not getting away with holding but, as my wife said, "absolute mugging" of the Lions DL.

So f'ing tired of the Lions having to play against the zebras as well as their opponents.

Ok, ending my refs suck rants.

My wife yelled at the tv on that play too..."how is that not a penalty?"

LOL...pretty sad when the wives know more than the refs ;) And it was a critical part in the game as I recall, wasn't it on the drive right after the Saints went ahead for the first time? I guess the refs didn't want the Lions to get back in the game. It would have been offsetting and replay the down at a minimum and the Lions were mentally still in the game. Granted I think they would have traded TDs until the last team to have the ball wins, but it also meant the D would have had more rest at a minimum.

Actually I think they did want the Seahawks to win that game. They were in the midst of a PR nightmare by having a team with a losing record in the playoffs when teams with winning records were not. It was kind of a way for the NFL to say how great it was that the Seahawks proved their system is the best and the critics couldn't say otherwise. Can you imagine the continued ridicule if the Saints had blown them out? Might have had to revamp their playoff system to say something like, "if division winner does not have a .500+ record, they are to be replaced by team with best record not already in the playoffs."

Uh if you really think the league is that fix then why do you even watch it.

Do you watch wwe wrestling too

Brees recovered it...didnt think we ever got the ball. The BS part of that play was the voluntary pulling the ball back but he still got forward progress...either way the refs fucked us. Eff'd us on a spot earlier in that same drive too if im not mistaken.

The football and his hands "might" have made sufficient forward progress for the first-down, but Brees' head, shoulders, arms, body, legs, and feet certainly didn't.

If they had he would have been standing-up straight atop the pile, and not have slid backward down from it....but I always have thought that "forward progress" is what your legs and feet can make, but apparently I'm sadly mistaken...whatever.

Also a fan of a team who lost to the cardinals in OT because of a facemask on Rodgers.

OOOHHHHH, one fucking game...we feel so sorry for your ref problems. We get fucked in 90% of the games played at some point, even though this year they were able to overcome the ref issues in enough games to make the playoffs. Some teams never get calls and others get called for shit all the time. I don't think a single Lions fan would have been surprised if the 2 PFs that Pack committed in last game vs us would have gone uncalled because that would have been normal. I know I was shocked they actually got flagged, and it sure seemed their players were shocked at getting flagged. If that hit on Stafford had been Suh hitting AR the NFL would have fined him and possibly suspended him as well.

It isn't a perception when it happens all the fucking time, it is reality. Fixed...no. Biased...fuck yes! You'd have to be decapitated to not see it. NFL sends message to refs to pay extra attention to Suh (and Harrison and a few others), so that's what the refs do. That's being fucking biased, period. Call the game the same way for all players, all plays. Impossible, granted, but that's their job and the NFL should not be interferring with refs perceptions by ordering refs to pay extra attention to specific players because it limits their vision.

How about the BLATANT hands to the face on the DB when Flynn ran for that 1st down on 3rd and very long? Even the commentators didn't say anything about it, instead bragging about how great the block by the WR was and it allowed Flynn to get the 1st down? The WR had the DBs face mask pointed skyward for crying out loud, no call. How many refs missed that? If that had been a Lion, especially Suh, doing that to anyone it would have gotten a PF.

Just tired of the bias. Call the games fairly as possible. We realize perfect reffing is impossible, but the bias needs to stop.

NOT blaming the refs, just voicing the blatant biased nature. Lions still have to do what it takes to win the game regardless, but that does mean they often have to overcome the refs bad and missed calls to a greater extent than teams like your Packers and it has gotten beyond old at this point.
