Shift

WTF? Is there some "unwritten rule" that says you can't bunt when you are down 7-0? These unwritten rules in baseball drive me nuts. Fuck them!

Outside of a no hitter I have no problem someone bunting in the 9th inning behind needing runners..

2018 where everyone gets offended over everything, even a guy just trying to do his job and get on base. I wish everyone would bunt with the shift on, I hate the shift and personally would love to see big power hitters bunting for singles whenever they could.

I have no problem with shifts, anytime during the game.
I have no problem with breaking-up a no-hitter in the 9th inning with a bunt.

Do these baseball players ever stop to think how stupid they sound about stuff like this?

This would be like an NHL team pulling their goalie to get an extra skater and then complaining the other team is still shooting the puck at their empty net.

Or an NFL kick coverage team trying to pin the kick returner to one sideline and then getting mad because he ran the opposite way where the defenders weren't.

The problem is in the pussified culture of baseball today, nobody can retaliate against Sisto by bowling him over.

Most of you are probably too young to have read Bill free hands classic baseball diary Behind the Mask, but the former all Big Ten tight end loved when motherfuckers try to run him over at the plate.

Freehan started the 1972 all star game and was replaced by Ray Fosse, who Pete rose bowled over and pretty much made Farsi never the same again.

If that little piece of dog shit fuck Rose had tried to bowl over a freeham, it would have been Rosa's career that came to the end.

Good message for the kids...you should just stop trying at a certain point during a game.

Let's just go with the assumption that both teams are trying to win the game until it's finally over....even if it's a 10 run game in the 9th. Then we don't have to have some baseball players getting all upset that someone is still out their trying to win, when in their eyes, they shouldn't be. Steal the base, bunt the ball, hustle to 3rd, etc. do whatever you think gives your team the best chance to still win the game.

This does put Dozier into a least fav player category for me now. That's right you are just supposed to lay down and make easy outs if you're losing 7-0 in the 9th with nobody on and 1 out, we will still put the shift on though and not assume you will lay down for us but if you don't we will whine and complain about it. This isn't baseball, well not the baseball I grew up watching anyway. maybe I'm just old and cranky. guess that was bound to happen sooner or later.

Someone should ask him if they plan to roll over and die in the midst of a pennant race with 10 games left in the season in that scenario. I bet he says no. A win in April is just as valuable as a win in September. I'd tell him to eat a bag of d!cks.
