Do yOu think it was missed call or did the helmet come off on a clean hit with no facemask?
Have not seen any other shots of it

No, I mean the facemask call that I mentioned in the second to last sentence.

When Kovacs pulled off Persa's helmet there was no facemask penalty. That's why Fitgerald went crazy and got an unsportsmanlike penalty.

It sure was fun watching pat fitzgerald go from white to tomato red so quickly though.
