Spring practice news

I think he has the talent. Just not sure about his smarts.

funny thing is we hear the same things about Arnett each spring but we also hear something similar about kings, at least the last two years.

Just like Michigan is projected to go to the rose bowl every spring.

Other than Arnett, usually what we hear in Spring turns out to be true. In the past we've heard that Jack Conklin was going to start and be good as a RS Freshman, seemed pretty far fetched. We heard that Shilique Calhoun was going to be a stud. In the past, other Spring players that were raved about were Lippett, Price, T Jones, and yes, Conner Cook.

Compared to some other programs we have a pretty good track record for our staff not spewing a bunch of sunshine in the Spring and Summer. More often than not the guys that get raved about turn out to be studs. So I expect Madre London to be a stud. It also sounds like Gerald Owens is sticking at RB and will get his share of carries. I think Vayante Copeland will start at corner this Fall.

There is the typical spring kool aid drinking, you always hear about how some guys look really good, put on weight, got stronger, etc. the spring game is so hard to tell anything from, was it good offense or bad defense? great defense or bad offense?

You definitely take everything you hear with a grain of salt, if you didn't you'd be like a Wolverine fan and start nominating guys for the September Heisman en masse. I think you have to separate what you hear from the coaches from what you hear from the media who gets a glimpse. I also think you get more solid information about the practice squad stars in the Fall than you do from Spring practice.

I also think there is more to Arnett's 2014 red shirting than just his performance, I think he had a poor attitude.

thanks. you just reminded me I need to get my September Heisman list in to the local Wolverine Fan chapter. Oh my god our fanbase is soooo silly!

The vote was cancelled this year, they've already engraved Jesus Pepper's name on the September Heisman Trophy. Coach Jim Hardashian is picking it up on the way back from the spa.

Dude, back off Harbaugh, he's going to be wearing a hat with a thin block M this year, repeat that, a thin block M, that means he's not to be F'd with.

Old school New Era - I have that hat. I also have the MSU hat with the thin block S - it was the uniform hat for the baseball team and the hat the coaches (Perles back then) wore on the sidelines when I was a student. I had the old school New Era hats from most of the schools I went to for MSU road games. That's the one thing Hollis should have kept when they rebranded everything a few years back - don't care for the fat block S on baseball caps.
