If I was a betting man I'd say 2020 is cancelled. Which would be the best thing.

Just shut everything down and everybody jump into a pit

Silent Spring...and maybe Summer and Fall too.

Lots of ppl who derive their living from entertainment, whether directly or indirectly will see their income shrink significantly, the longer that this looming pandemic continues and increases. I don't go out much, but when I must it could soon be while wearing a surgical mask, as I am in an age group which is more adversely affected by the coronavirus. Heard yesterday that it could take more than a year to develop a working vaccine to combat its spread and effects.

That's what I hear a year - year and half. Which basically means they don't know anything yet.

Whelp...scratch using surgical mask protection, the US has precious few mfgs of the necessary N95 mask, and the basic type of surgical mask offers little protection from the virus.

Read that 95% of the production was offshored to....China starting 15 years ago. Now they have aplenty what the US lacks even for those who could soon and quickly become overwhelmed @ clinics and hospitals while treating the affected (infected).

Of the fast foodies, White Castle uses the most remote system in their drive-throughs, where a conveyor handles both currency and food exchange. I could see many supermarkets and retail hardware stores who have installed self-checkouts, using them exclusively, save for perhaps only one that is staffed during peak periods. Ordering and consuming meals inside higher-end restaurants might be discouraged if not banned for an indefinite period of time.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK.
Totally Tigers

It?s time again to hear from our readers! Today is the day to let us know what you?re thinking on a selected topic.

Sunday is the one day of the week where we open up the comment parameters for you, so you can get those juices flowing.

Comments on THIS DAY ONLY can be expanded to a maximum of 8 sentences.
We can?t wait to get your thoughts on the following topic.

What are you spending your time doing instead of following baseball games and the team news, along with national TV and radio programs?

I can imagine how bookies and habitual gamblers feel about not being able to make or take bets on sporting events...esp the NCAAB women's and men' tournaments that got cancelled just before they were skedded to begin. Back in the 90s and 00s I had to decide what I was going to be able to make time to watch or attend..and unlike now, when I have more than enough free time to do so.

ESPN is almost totally screwed, so there's that.

Next big event that might be affected is the Kentucky Derby and to a lesser extent, the Indy 500, which does not appear to have the same national viewer appeal as it had back in the 20th century.

I bought a $100 square for the NCAA tournament so I would stay interested in all of the games. I usually lose money. So now I have my $100 coming back to me. Maybe I can buy a bottle of hand sanitizer off of ebay now.

The wife told me last night that someone was selling a 12 pack of premium TP for $120 on Facebook...she has the annoying habit of waiting until we run out of staples like napkins, tissue, TP and PT before buying more, but she managed to find a store which still had some in stock on her third try.
