Stafford vs Sanchez

Remember when Jets fans were laughing at the Lions for not drafting Sanchez?

Not saying Stafford has played great this year, but he's still doing better than Sanchez and, just like the first two years when they claimed Sanchez led the Jets to a better record, it has been the rest of the team that has resulted in the difference between the team records.

stafford will be with the lions long after sanchez has been made a #2 QB on another team...possibly even no longer in the NFL...maybe playing in CFL, or becoming an analyst for some network.

no, i'm saying stafford will still be lions #1 when sanchez gets traded to another team and eventually unable to find any team willing to play him as their #1, thereby demoted to #2. not saying this year or next, but eventually...and my guess is within 3 years.

All I know is that there are some bad QB in the NFL so I'm thinking he might still get a shot somewhere. I remember when Javaris Jackson left Minny and he was named starter initially at Seattle the next year. If Jackson got anther chance I suspect Sanchez could as well. But he is horrible.

oh, he'll get another chance, maybe even 2, to be a #1...but within 3 years i don't think any team has him as a #1 and only way he starts again is if a team's #1 is injured and they do not think they have another option than to start sanchez.

Whats saying Stafford stays in Detroit his entire career? Sooner or later maybe he'll want to go to a team he doesnt have to throw the ball 60 times a game in order for any possibility of winning....Just sayin.

Something tells me stafford will be here his entire career.

If Staff is still solid, he ain't leaving. Good QB don't get to go FA. Lions will sign him.

Stafford will have contract re-worked this offseason most likely, and it will mean he starts for the Lions for the next 3 years. Meanwhile, Sanchez wallows in patheticness and eventually cannot get #1 QB role with any team.

Sanchez just got an idiotic extension from the Jets....no team in the NFL will take on that stupid contract...the Jets are stuck with the Dirty One.

Sanchez and Stafford look pretty comparable to me last weekend/last night.

No they didn't. Even on Staff's worse day or one of his worse he can still throw for some yards unlike Dirty who barely goes 100.

Stafford 24/50 246yds 4.9avg 0tds 3int 4.6qbr 37.6rtg
Sanchez 13/28 131yds 4.7avg 1tds 4int 6.8qbr 32.6rtg

Keep in mind 121 of those yards went to the best wideout in football. A luxury Sanchez doesn't have. Subtract 121 and the lines are near identical.

do we subtract all the Jerry Rice yardage from Montana and Young ?

You're kidding, right? Maybe we should subtract the difference in Defense. Staff would have had the ball more and thrown for even more yards

BTW, you made the cut for dumb post of the year.

Just like you would when comparing win totals between the two, you would subtract the good Jet defenses from Sanchez's wins. As a general rule when basing ones argument on comparison, it is important to mention when one side has a significant advantage over the other that can account for contrast in that comparison.
I think I learned that one in 9th grade so you can take your issue up with my high school composition teacher.

For the more simple minded, both laid turds, Megatron may have slightly polished that turd for Stafford. In conclusion, a turd is turd and Stafford looked no better by comparison.

Says who? You? Just because you don't agree that both qbs looked horrendous doesn't make it stupid or any less true. I find it funny laughing at Sanchez the same week Captain Sidearm served up the game on a platter to the nine loss (straight) AZ Cardinals. I'd worry about our own qb's regression before pointing and laughing at another's.

There was a lot of talk on the radio today that the jets should just eat the 12 mil hit theyd get and play with a cap of 100 mil for a season instead of playing a guy that will only get you 4 to 5 wins. Even when they were a playoff team they were babying sanchize. To me they make a good point. playing with a lower cap for a year but having a better opportunity to win makes more sense for that franchise. Why?.....cause they are a fucking train wreck and a lughing stock at this point. They need to do something drastic to change that image. If i was the owner that would mean a new GM, new coach....and definitely a new QB.
