Stanford Routt cut

Was he THAT garbage that the chiefs didn't even want him? Crennel says they want to go with the future so they started Arenas. But what does that really mean?

The Raiders paid him a lot and cut him. Then the Chiefs paid him a lot and cut him before he played more than half the year. He has been getting beat deep. We already have guys who are good at that. I would pass.

In the last 18 months he has made at least 26 million by 2 teams. Last year he was among the league leaders allowing 8 TD's last year (2nd most) and lead the league in committing 17 penalties.

with florence comming back in 2 weeks we should be ok. but we could always use depth id he could ba had at a discount.

Saw something earlier that said that we are showing some interest. Im cool with it because he would immediately be our second best corner. although he isnt great.

would rather have routt play..than a 6th round pick rookie starting for us...especially with the passing teams we will be facing shortly..

Green has been playing well. I'd rather develop Green. We've got Florence coming back if we want to play a vet.

With Greenwood and Bentley on IR, Routt could provide veteran depth, although Houston, Green, and Florence should be ahead of him.

However, lets not forget that Kansas City, a team that has not led for even one second in any game this whole season, did not want him on their team. Just saying......

i really don't think green has been playing well..i just think he hasn't been tested..like i said..if he's starting in a couple of weeks...we will find out real soon..

If receivers were open against him more he would be tested more. Especially since the Dline hasn't gotten pressure much the last 2 games. He has done a solid job. Better than Bentley did.

To his point we havent been playing the most high powered of offenses. Remember last year? We were one of the league leaders in defense until we faced the high powered passing teams later in the year. If were not getting pressure now against the shitty teams.....were fucked once we play the GBs, ATLs of the world. The Houston game im a little less scared of cause of their tendancy to run first...which i think weve played well against the run for the most part. I agree i dont think Green has really been tested. That being said hes done a fine job....better than i expected. But i dont think hes an answer or should ever be anything more than a 4th cb on the field.

We were one of the best defenses(top 5) until Houston and Delmas went down and stayed down hurt playing the best offenses we faced. We'll never know how they would do against the high powered offenses although it was 0-0 mid 2nd Qtr against Green Bay before Houston and Delmas went down.

We will find out this year if the current top 8 yardage secondary can handle GB twice, Houston and Atlanta. I would like more picks than 5 in 8 games but that's on the Dline to get pressure too. And 65% completion rate needs work but they are keeping most things in front of them. Lions best in league in only allowing 15 20 plus yard plays. 3 of the 4 wins the Lions had at least one pick. I want some damn strip sacks too.

But I do think the Lions have much better depth this year in the secondary than 2011(Wright,Harris,McDonald,Smith, 2011 Spievey sucked). Delmas and Coleman(who went down last year and caused Chris Harris to play and suck) and Silva have played well other than Coleman against the Titans. The Wendling experiment sure failed though against the 49ers and Titans.

Expecting Green and Silva to keep this up is a tough task especially against Green Bay in 2 weeks then Houston. I'll be happy to get Florence back to keep Alphonso Smith off the field against Green Bay and Lacey is a mixed bag. Houston must stay healthy and Delmas I won't hold my breath getting him back but I'd love him back against Green Bay.
