Lions have been informed by league office that Ndamukong Suh has been suspended by Commissioner 2 games without pay. Also, it's a straight 2-game suspension without any stipulation by league that he has to go through any sort of anger mgmt counseling. He still may by team's advice but its not part of it.

Maybe I am alone in this, but knowing he was going to get 2 games I would rather it be the next 2. NO should beat us with or without him and we can beat Minny without him. I think he is more critical in the Oakland game, hope he doesn't appeal and push it back a week.

My 2 cents.

Hopefully he appeals and it gets reduced to 1. We lose to both N.O. and minny we're toast.

out for New Orleans and Minny.....that hurts
Does it really hurt that much though? I think they'd get rolled by NO either way, and I think they should beat Minny either way. If they're a playoff team, they have to be able to beat Minny at home, especially with a gimpy AP.

we will be fine without him for 2 games.....DT depth isnt a problem. Nice to see Fairley get more time

Never mind on my appeal comment, decision would be made before Sunday.

NFL statement on Suh's suspension:
"NFL Vice President of Football Operations Merton Hanks notified Ndamukong Suh today that he has been suspended without pay for the Lions' next two games for his unsportsmanlike conduct in the Lions-Packers game on Thanksgiving Day. It was Suh's fifth violation of on-field rules in the past two seasons that has resulted in league discipline. Suh may not practice or be at the team practice facility for any other activities during the two-game suspension. He will be reinstated on Dec. 12. Under the CBA, the suspension may be appealed within three business days. If appealed, an expedited hearing and decision would take place this week in advance of this weekend's games."

DL depth is one thing....but don't tell yourself that they will be fine without him. He is one of the most dominant DT's in the league and the Lions best defensive player.

NO was a guaranteed L anyways but this could hurt us in a must-win game against Minnesota.

for 2 games...not a problem

The Saints game doesn't matter because they were going to lose that game anyway. The MN game could be a different story. AP is still one of the best RBs in the league. Missing your best DL could impact the game. If they win that game I will agree with you. If they lose that game I think it will likely be partially due to the absence of Suh.

Looks like our luck has run out with these injuries/suspensions coming during the meat of the season. For some reason i doubt chicago would drop more games than detroit in order for them to make the playoffs so im just looking at these next "tough" games to see if they make it an everyday loss or a bumbling display of ineptitude like they have against any other team playing good football at the time.

from listening to Schwartz just a bit ago on 97.1 doesn't sound like an appeal is coming.....Suh just wants it done and over with.

He needs to appeal. If the guy who kicked the guy in the nuts lost no games the Suh shouldn't lose 2+ games. I think both should miss their next game and that's it.

It's a fair suspension, I doubt an appeal would even help anything.

I was hoping for one but expecting two. I doubt an appeal would reduce so just lets get through it.

He is appealing. Probably going to say he already served 1/2 a game (2nd half of GB) and try to get one game removed. Doubt it works.

Ndamukong Suh knows he made a mistake, but he has been encouraged by NFLPA and Roger Goodell to appeal 2-game suspension and he will.
